Every legal adult receives one. Horray, $2000 for losing all my god dam possessions

Nature took them from you, not the taxpayers. This is a $2000 gift from the American taxpayer to you. Be grateful.

I'm sure half of you that are pissed off about the 2k had no freaking problem with the millions that were dished out to the 9/11 victims.
The 9/11 families were, in effect, bought off to prevent thousands upon thousands of lawsuits against anyone and everyone who the lawyers thought could be raped for damages.
So, tell me, who are Katrina's victims planning on suing? This $2,000 payoff is nothing more than the race card successfully being played. Thank you, Reverend Al and Reverend Jessie.

I wonder how long it will take for the news story to break about these cards being illegally used or obtained.

Holy crap they actually got reparations!

I read this - and memories of the Dave Chappel "Reparations" skit come flooding back - 😱

I think that's why I find this thread hilarious!

Reporter: "Uh sir, are you saving your new found wealth and taken a job as a truck driver for Newport cigarettes?"
Black dude: "Truck driver? I just bought me a year's supply of Newports!"
😀

somehow I doubt all the people have insurance.
I'm with you on this. Many may not be able to afford insurance, other can't purchase insurance because they reside in hurricane/flood plain. And, there is nothing stopping insurance claiming bankruptcy to forfeit payment.

If that ever happened, that would be another story. However, not being able to afford it is no excuse because I'm sure that most of them who actually had houses could afford it and required to have it by mortgage companies.

I was thinking the same thing. And you can bet that if Dave Chappelle or Chris Rock made the same jokes that are appearing in this thread, no one would bat an eye.

"Gold is at an all time high... Detroit motors are revitalized and KFC's stock keeps on rising..."

With all seriousness, these cards are only going to people who can prove their houses are destroyed. Or at least that's what they're saying...

No sh!t. :Q

This disaster seems to have brought out the worst in people, rather than the best....

sadly so. =(
For some reason, I see it as an indicator of the social health of our country.

Not good.

Yeah, not good at all. Bad infection going on. I hope it clears up before we have a class war. 🙁

But if there was no class war, what would the Democrats do? 😀

Black people are allowed to say the "N" word. White people are not. Same deal with the jokes.

Nah.

I pretty much thought that was a load of stink as well.

A disaster unprecedented in modern times and you guys are complaining about giving $2000 to people who lost everything?

No complaints about the $500 million trophy bridge in Alaska? It will serve a whopping community of 50.

All the whiners come out of the woodwork for $2000 handouts to the displaced and devastated, but those same people don't bat an eye for billions in Iraq or billions in pork.

What a coincedence. Overflowing sewage in N.O. was matched all around the country with human sewage showing their "compassion".

News flash.

Compassion does not come in the form of cash handouts.

In the words of Sam Kinison speaking about the famine in Ethiopia, "the best thing we could do for those people is to buy them two suitcases and a U-Haul-it."

I hope they spend their money wisely.

in theory, i agree with this solution, but in reality, i dont. i can see those thugs with guns killing people for these debit cards.

that place is already in chaos....money in people's hand at this moment will only make things worse.
