Heath Ledger as the Joker? fsck that. Get Nicholson in there!!

nicholson had his day in the sun and he is an all time great actor, but sheesh, do you really want him playing this kind of role again? at his age?

he would suck.

i can't quite picture ledger either tho.

Ledger in makeup.

Works for me.

I'm more worried about Ledger's demeanor than his looks...

Actually they need to skip Joker since it's been milked out. Scarecrow was sweet, have him make a return and bring in a GOOD Mr Freeze or a GOOD Poison Ivy, do what that other POS series failed to do but please no more Joker... the teats are sore.

Yeah they should just bring in Vinnie Jones and Heather Graham to play those respective parts. /sarcasm

I vote nay not because I particularly like Katie Holmes. I just think it's aggravating for a person in a series of movies to be replaced with another actor. I guess that's par for the course in Batman movies, though. Oh well. I just hope they don't try and make more Spiderman movies with somebody besides Tobey Maguire. It just wouldn't be the same.

Am I the only one who thinks that Batman shout NOT have a recurring love interest? He's a loner who can't let any woman get into his head/heart. When he wants some sexual healing, Bruce Wayne dips into a nice model for a fling, but he doesn't have long term relationships.

Batman boinks bimbos, as Bruce, he doesn't have time for a girl friend. Either that, or he finds a nice boy wonder to spend all his time with... ;)

QFT. Just look at him in Batman Beyond (yeah yeah I know, DCAU, whatever). He's all emo and alone, and Barbara, Tim, and even Terry hate him for it.

Heath Ledger?

Ugh. Will not be wasting my time with this one.

Why not? He's an excellent actor. And haven't the producers/director of Batman Begins shown you that they kinda know what they're doing? Casting, other than Holmes, was perfect - Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Christian Bale, FOR A COMIC BOOK MOVIE? Amazing cast. The fact that they have trust in Heath Ledger means that we should return that faith and give him a chance.

And he is an awesome actor - I really thought he shoudl have won an oscar for broke back mountain, it was a very interesting character in a kinda dull movie.

It's kind of discracting when a previous character is played by a different actor/actress in the sequel, but Maggie is a cool chick, cute too.

Heath Ledger and a Gyllenhaal? Didn't we already have this movie? We're going for Brokeback Batman now?
So is the joker a top or bottom?

They left the character in for good reasons, I'm sure. And to those who say "batman shouldn't have a recurring love interest" in the comics, there were severa instances where Bruce Wayne had what could be almost descripbed as a serious relationship, one of these leading to the storyline where the woman was killed and Bruce Wayne was the lead suspect, and he didn't know if he did it or not (at the time, he was having problems with the whole bruce wayne/batman thing, going a little crazy, to say the least)

"
I think the first Batman and Nicholson as Joker were the best of the series before Batman Begins... but they were still very comic like. Batman Begins is a more serious, sinister, series, and Nicholson as Joker would just make it too comic-like."

This is ironic, because Tim Burton hates comic books, and did everything he could to thumb his nose at comic book continuity with his two Batman movies. Batman Begins is MUCH more like the comic books than any batman movie that has ever been made.

holmes was the only bad part of batman begins. She was so out of place considering who was in that cast. I kept waiting for dawson to come pick her up.

If we vote nay it would be nay to maggie gyllenhal and not nay to dumping katie, right? I think it is really ridiculous to agree to act in 3 movies then have mysterious scheduling conflicts when it's time to actually act. I hope they sue her. I think maggie gyllenhal is infinitely better in every regard than katie holmes so this is a big yay for me. But it's going to be really annoying if the 3rd one has someone else again.

katie was mostly terrible because she looks like a child still, sorta acts like one too. not much to be done by it, miscast.

dunno about new casting, shes not as pretty. still soft faced look, perhaps they should have gone with someone with a stronger face.

same mistake with bosworth in superman. not convincing as a go getter adult.

"scheduling conflict" is a bit like how canned government workers claim they are resigning to spend "more time with their families".

Good, she was the weak point in that movie. She can't act worth anything.
