How come I never heard a Democrat make that statement when Howard Dean was running for President?

My mom gets to be VP first before Palin.

when your mom is a governor with an 80% approval rating, then you can complain about her not getting nominated.

Her approval has not been 80 plus since troopergate broke. How come idiots keep stating ths as though it's fact?

No she didn't. That debate was successful for her due to the fact that she didn't have a melt down.

Keep in mind that almost half of those who voted in Alaska voted for a Convicted Felon for Senator.

Doesn't say much for the other guy does it.
Doesn't say much for the Alaskans.

LMAO at the Palin circle jerk. You guys should get out more.

Now that the election is over, they don't have anything to bond over... so they relive nostalgic "bash anyone who isn't us" days of Campaign '08.

To me it illustrates how bad it can be for the people living in a unpopulated areas. People just naturally gravitate to where the power is even more then they do in populated areas. They feel safer that way.

and all she did was sit there, asking questions with a pained, "i can't
believe Palin is so stupid" look on her face. classic.

another classic Couric moment for her fans - late in Bush'es administration,
Katie was interviewing Barbara when who shows up but GHW Bush. it was
like watching Montana do his 4th quarter comeback thing.

people are actually still defending Sarah Palin, lol.

People are actually still attacking Sarah Palin, lol.

Well tell the woman to stop giving interviews and telling the world that she'll run in 2012 if god tells her to and we'll have less to talk about. If she went back to alaska and stopped talking to CNN she wouldn't keep popping up.

This morning I saw Mitt Romney give a long detailed analysis on the bailout of the auto market, and what he thinks needs to be done, and the consequences of both following and not following his plan.

I can't see Palin comprehending half of what he said, forget about coming up with any sort of economic plan on her own. She might be a fine Alaskan governor, but we have 50 governors and not all of them are qualified for president just because they are a governor. We want the very best and brightest minds to lead us. She's a barely college grad who has paid no attention to national or international issues until she was tapped for VP. Most people can see that and it's only become more evident in her post-loss publicity blitz.

Clinton went on a "likability tour" to prove she wasn't a psychobitch. Palin is now on a "knowledge tour" to prove she isn't an idiot. Both campaigns were about equally successful.

Some want someone smart to lead. Most do not. They vote for someone who is likable, who is "familiar" in some way. If it's someone smart, the reaction seems to be that the candidate is either "elitist" or else is "arrogant." If the person talks at a lower level, so that the general public can either relate, or else simply understand, then the candidate is "condescending." And someone smarter than you is intimidating. If you vote someone in office who is just a little dumber, then you can always say, "Well I would have done this instead," and still feel smugly superior to the President of the US.

It's sad that voting in politics feels just like popularity contests in high school, whether it was for class president or prom king/queen. It's never on the person's merits or qualifications for the position, it's always just about social standing, looks, likability, and popularity - irrelevant, superficial bullshit.

Shattered illusions....I'd always hoped that some of the inanity of high school would wash away in the real world. Instead, it's amplified; the stakes are higher, but the intelligence behind it is unchanged.

If being governor of Alaska is such an easy job then explain how Palin beat two former governors on her way to victory??

The sitting governor that she beat in the primary had a 20% approval rating and he was sending out checks too. Perhaps there is more to be governor than just sending out those oil checks.
If being governor of Alaska is so difficult how can Palin handle it? Defend her all you like but she's proven herself an airhead.
Ask the people of Alaska, they seem pretty happy with her.

And the people who have talked with and met her would disagree with your assertion that she is an airhead. Did you watch the VP debate? The airhead held her own against Mr. 30+ years in the Senate. Palin's problem was a lack of preparation, she was not ready for the role. She is a governor, not a foreign policy expert.

Now she had time to study up on that subject and decide if she wants to try the national stage again.

palin didn't hold here own, she made a fool of herself and biden had to visibly pull punches, most of here answers were not only incoherent, but completely off-topic. Also, seeming happy with her is a past tense thing, last i heard alaskans were embarassed of her.
