kaspersky internet security and remote desktop

I am using Kaspersky Internet Security and it seems to be preventing me from accessing the computer via remote desktop. The only thing is I cannot find anything in the application that allows me to open ports. Does anyone know how to get RD working with KIS?

You can do three things here -

Turn the firewall to super low security mode....(I doubt you want that)

Or you can set the firewall preferences for KIS. To do this, (I assume you are using V6)
Go to Anti Hacker, settings.
Below the drag bar for security levels, click the settings button. You should now see rules for applications.

Here's where you can choose what to do:
You can set a application specific rule:
Add a new app rule, allow inbound and outbound UDP and TCP communication to your remote desktop program on the correct port, and you're done.

Add a generic rule:
Go to "Rules for packet filtering" and add the appropriate parameters there, for TCP and UDP. Remember both INBOUND and OUTBOUND as KIS screens both.

I recommend the app specific rules, as its more secure that way.
