I made a quick run to radioshack today for some random crap and as i'm walking towards the mall strip, i see a Delphi keyless entry. I figured i might as well try to see if the owners car is still here. After walking about 100m back the panic button set off a silver buick... so the owners are still around here somewhere.

I'm thinking what to do with it... i can't leave it on the car, because anyone could unlock it and clean the car out....so i figure what the hell, I'll put it inside. I unlocked the car, opened the door, locked it back up and tossed the thing on the driver's seat.

I made a little note saying "You're welcome🙂" That's now hanging off the ring on their keyless remote 😀

No it was just the keyless entry remote, not the key
 
maybe he had the PIN door locks.


EDIT: BTW I wouldnt have left a note, just tossed it in the car like they let it behind. Now they know someone was in their car, and if they have security cameras at the mall they now know it was you.

better to pay 50 bucks for a tow truck driver to unlock it for you then to pay 40000 dollars for a new car

Not to mention they'd realize someone was in their car either way. Chances are they used the keyless entry to lock to car to begin with (who uses keys nowdays anyway)...so if the thing magically appears in their cars, they'll put the two together...
