Now on the other hand - there are always 50 times more handicapped spots for each and every store in any particular location than there are handicapped people who live within a 100 mile radius of that location. It's true - it's the law. Every handicapped person in a town could all be at the same store at the same time, parking diagonally and the spots would still not be filled. It's gotten to be more than a bit ridiculous.

How do you know the driver is not handicapped? You can get a temp handicap tag for having a twisted ankle.

I have handicapped tags, and need room to deploy my wheelchair ramp. I can find empty handicapped spots less than 50% of the time believe it or not. The story is different when it's a necessity.

If i cant find an open spot, I park across two regular spots so I dont get blocked in.

I personally have asked people that I have seen *jump* or quickly get out of a vehicle and have no sticker or license plate showing a disabled person decal why they would park in a disabled parking spot.

Most of the time the response is "Most of those people fake it" or "I will only be gone here a few minutes" to being threatened with physical violence. To the violence I simply reply "Fine I could use a new car and yours look nice enough"


There is no reason what so ever for people who are not disabled to be parking in a disabled parking spot.

To the OP, you're an idiot. You cannot always tell by looking at people whether they are disabled.

I'm a woman in my early twenties. To look at me, you'd have no idea that I'm disabled in any way. As it happens, I have rheumatoid arthritis. At this point, it's sufficiently under control that I don't need handicapped parking, but in the past it's been bad enough that a trip to the store is almost more than I could handle.

Congratulations - you stuck your nose in where it didn't belong, whether you were right or wrong in your assumptions. If you were right, you accomplished nothing. If you were wrong, you probably made somebody's bad day even worse.

did they not have the handicapped placards? there are a lot of handicapped people who do not look it, it could be for many reasons such as overweight (like way way way overweight) or arthritis in the knees etc

I have handicape plates. i rarely park in the spot unless i hurt or something. i would rather leave them for someone that really needs it.

but it does piss me off when someone parks in it that does not need it.
