Kapitall - A New Game And Tool For Aspiring Investors

Want to try gaming with a focus on stock and mutual fund investing styles? Or investing with a gaming paradigm?

Kapitall is a fun way to examine portfolio structuring as it can be used to manage an actual or an imaginary investment portfolio. Right now you can't trade for real, but once the platform leaves beta you will be able to set up an actual trading account and apply those new skills you just developed.

While it won't substitute for the services of a professional investments adviser, it is definitely a cool way to match yourself up against the likes of Warren Buffet and... Brittany Spears?

Cordell Ratzlaff is Kapitall's creative director. He was head of the Mac OS X team at Apple so you might see some similarity in the design cues.

It is free to game with while in beta at -

Interesting, I had similar idea when I saw HSX.com, which you trade imaginary securities for movie deals.

I had the same thought when I saw Kapitall.

The difference is that in a little while you will be able to play with real money on Kapitall. In the meantime, it teaches beginners a bit about the markets, offers some information on the thinking that might go into making portfolio decisions, and does it with a bit of gaming fun.

Real traders and experienced investors don't need to play it as a game, of course. But novices and anyone who wants to explore a non-traditional platform for information and analysis might want to check it out.

It is sort of a Mac vs PC thing.
