So, this man is a curious man-child. And something he acknowledges too. 😀
However, the point of this thread is two things:
first, to discuss the hilarity of both a video and the comments with the video.
The second is to discuss the lyrics, and possibly spell out his ultimate point. (He's a fairly intelligent, if ill-mannered and terrible decision making skills, or maybe even a manipulative genius.. we'll get to that...) But let's also visit King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man, because I have a feeling that might play into the overall feeling on a particular song of Kanye's.
As promised, there is much hilarity found in the comments here.
There are a few gems in there. So let us begin:
I'm not claiming any of these are honest beliefs of the retards behind the comments. Trolling or serious, the conversations they spark (and resulting replies) are equally as depressing to read, realizing some of these people aren't trolling.
The video, I don't know if I care to discuss. It'll just add [ed note: even more] length to the post, and I personally think the video is a fairly good depiction overall of the theme he presented in both the song - which is longer on the album - and the entirety of the album itself.
Lyrics to Power:
And now, 21st Century Schizoid Man
I am not at all implying he simply copied off King Crimson. But I am definitely seeing a thread that is lyrically linked to KC song, and that's not just because the song samples the titular line.
And while I'm tempted to further expand on this little thesis of mine, through the quotation of the entire album Monster, I'll spare you. Don't worry, I'm thinking about your attention span. 😉
But it's ultimately the main theme of the album, and the ultimate point of this thread is quite simply boiled down to that theme. He's acknowledging the people who mock him, the people who loathe him, the people who enjoy his music... he's addressing it all in the form of parodying himself and acknowledging his own problems but still delivering it in an easily-enjoyable form... if you can find yourself ever enjoying his music.
He's one of the more intelligent rappers, who can deliver a decent critical analysis of some topic and yet get that song played constantly and enjoyed by many.
Even while stroking his ego, he is also showing humility and acknowledging flaws, and yet still also includes lyrics discussing topics far greater than himself.
And yes, this entire post was inspired by those vapid morons on youtube. 🙂

I'm a Christian and i am not feeling this, you know how god have all the power. He is saying (bassically) god shouldn't have all that power from saying no one man should have all that power, And he is also saying he is god from him in the Stone walk Way in Heaven With all those angels (why is he tho only one with a black outfit and everyone else in white) he is saying he is an oppisite of an angel im not feeling this it means some Demontic things
It makes total sense. Kanye's part of the illuminati. Along with all the other artists. YOU ARE BLINDED BY MUSIC, DISTRACTED BY CELEBRITIES AND SONGS AND MOVIES, this is luring you into the illuminati's hands. WAKE UP! Kanye is talking about god having too much power. The illuminati is an orginization of satanic freaks. Of course they don't want god to have power. Wake up.

Lyrics to Power:
Kanye West said:Im livin in the 21st century
Doin something mean to it
Do it better than anybody you ever seen do it
Screams from the haters, got a nice ring to it
I guess every superhero need his theme music
No one man should have all that power
The clocks tickin, I just count the hours
Stop trippin, Im trippin off the power
(21st century schizoid man)
The system broken, the schools closed, the prisons open
We aint got nothin to lose, mafucka, we rollin
Huh? Mafucka, we rollin
With some light-skinned girls and some Kelly Rowlands
In this white mans world, we the ones chosen
So goodnight, cruel world, I see you in the mornin
Huh? I see you in the mornin
This is way too much, I need a moment
No one man should have all that power
The clocks tickin, I just count the hours
Stop trippin, Im trippin off the power
Til then, fuck that, the Worlds ours
And then they (Go)
And then they
And then they (Go)
And then they (21st century schizoid man)
Fuck SNL and the whole cast
Tell em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass
More specifically, they can kiss my asshole
Im an asshole? You niggas got jokes
You short-minded niggas thoughts is Napoleon
My furs is Mongolian, my ice brought the goalies in
Now I embody every characteristic of the egotistic
He know, he so, fuckin gifted
I just needed time alone, with my own thoughts
Got treasures in my mind but couldnt open up my own vault
My childlike creativity, purity and honesty
Is honestly being prodded [crowded?] by these grown thoughts
Reality is catchin up with me
Takin my inner child, Im fighting for it, custody
With these responsibilities that they entrusted me
As I look down at my dia-mond-encrusted piece
N-gga, no one man should have all that power
The clocks tickin, I just count the hours
Stop trippin, Im trippin off the power
Til then, fuck that, the Worlds ours
And then they (Go)
And then they
And then they (Go)
And then they
And then they (Go)
And then they (21st century schizoid man)
Holy, powers, Austin, Powers
Lost in translation with a whole fuckin nation
They say I was the obamanation [abomination] of Obamas nation
Well, thats a pretty bad way to start the conversation
At the end of day, goddammit, Im killin this shit
I know damn well yall feelin this sh-t
I dont need yo pussy, bitch, Im on my own dick
I aint gotta power trip, who you goin home with?
How Ye doin? Im survivin
I was drinkin earlier, now Im drivin
Where the bad bitches, huh? Where ya hidin?
I got the power, make yo life so excitin (So excitin)
Now this would be a beautiful death
Jumpin out the window
Lettin everything go
Lettin everything go
N-now-now this would be a beautiful death
Jumpin out the window
Lettin everything go
Lettin everything go
Now this would be a beautiful death
Jumpin out the window
Lettin everything go
Lettin everything go
You got the power to let power go
And now, 21st Century Schizoid Man
King Crimson said:Cat's foot iron claw
Neuro-surgeons scream for more
At paranoia's poison door.
Twenty first century schizoid man.
Blood rack barbed wire
Polititians' funeral pyre
Innocents raped with napalm fire
Twenty first century schizoid man.
Death seed blind man's greed
Poets' starving children bleed
Nothing he's got he really needs
Twenty first century schizoid man.
