he's a hot producer. but lyrically... meh. you can tell when jay ghostwrites for him.
Where?

Diamonds are forever is classic example.
LOL, I'm retarded. Can you like, quote lyrics that clearly show two different authors?

Big K pick up where young hove left off, that whole verse was J. But what i find interesting is that he used 5 diffrent styles in that song. Taking from De La Soul, Jay-z, Eminem, among others.

BuBuBuBu right here stands a man, with the power to make a diamond with his bare hands.

I like your thinking, but you left out some greats.
The roots.
Imortal teq.
De La Soul.
Dialated peoples.
Mos Def.

But i do agree, lyricaly, talib is the best alive. Hell, even jay-z who is fammed to be the best alive, has stated in songs that he wants to be talib.

yep, i agree. mos def gives him a run for his money, but as far as material released and such, gotta give the nod to talib. of course, just get the best of both worlds and pick up the 'blackstar' album. :D

btw, i like kanye as a producer, and mostly because i like or am familiar with a lot of the songs he samples. as a rapper, he can be medicore at times and i seriously think a lot of his verses are ghost written. for a good producer/actual-rapper combo, i got to give it up to my man dj quik.
