If this is truly a miracle, then I'm forced to wonder why any god would take time out of his busy schedule to heal this man (who injured himself pole vaulting) while thousands of kids die every day from curable diseases or conditions like polio, malaria, worms, infection, hunger, thirst, murder, rape, abuse, ad infinitum.

That, in my opinion, does not sound like a "loving" or "just" god.

Seems like it would have been less hassle to prevent the injury in the first place. This kind of shit is why the religious are mercilessly mocked by my peers.

Miracles happen every day around the world. Its a matter of faith if you regard them as such. As far as your "why do bad things happen to good people when there is a God" question, hasnt that been answered 11ty billion times?

God can be a vicious SOB, check out the Old Testament sometime.

Things happen every day that millions of people pray about and nothing happens, why are the few times when something does happen acts of God?

People get struck by lightning, win the lottery, he survives a traumatic brain injury. None are God related.

Saints are capable of performing miracles as well.

Human beings, saints or not, do not have the capacity for silly magic.

Actually, it hasn't been answered even once in a manner that doesn't send intelligent people into spasms of laughter.

LOL. What a fucking joke.

The church has people that will come out and "investigate whether something was a miracle" or not?

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. These people must be extremely busy, and we must have a lot of saints in the world... There are thousands of people that have beat the odds and survived horrific injuries....

True. They're about as original as the "born of a virgin, miracle performing, dying, and resurrecting god man" motif many cling to like a security blanket because they're too afraid to assign meaning to their lives themselves.

Indeed. What are they going to do, conduct an experiment in order to generate repeatable, falsifiable results?
I guess they'll just have to have faith that it was a miracle. Problem solved.

"Chase survived in part because hundreds of people prayed to Father Emil Kapaun to intercede on his behalf. It was absolutely a miracle." ? Paula Kear, Chase's mother
Yup, because God is a democracy. The more people pray, the more his magic works.
Now clap your hands if you believe in fairies!

Since when does many = every?

You are correct, it says many. Still disagree w/ the statement.

There are many (not all) religious people who use their faith and religious beliefs as a crutch, placebo, or panacea most especially in matters relating to life, its meaning, and how that meaning applies to them.

That would explain Alison Stokke.
