Yeah it’s really bad to show that people with widely differing policy goals are united that a specific candidate is worse than those policy differences.

Whatever
Cheney brings nothing but negatives. I can't believe I have to explain it to you that it's probably a bad look to be stumping with a neocon warhawk who defends torturing inmates after suspending habeas corpus when Americans are tired of constant wars. Cheney is one of the most toxic names in America.

People are dumb. The whole point of touting Cheney's endorsement is that a former number 2 or 3 Republican in the house, AND with that very conservative reputation, would endorse Harris, then why can't you do that to - not, HEY LOOK CHENEY ENDORSED ME AND WE LOVE HER AND HER POLICIES NOW!

What a fucken clown! Because DJT has never committed murder, I have hope for us. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤯
And Obama assassinated Bin Laden. Well, did Trump start a war? He did get the Afghanistan withdrawal on track (in a nasty manner, ignoring the Afghan government and dealing with just the Taliban).

Are you even trying to make any sense any more? Yes, Bin Laden was assassinated because he perpetrated 9/11. We didn't "murder" him in the criminal sense. What's the fucken point of this comparison? Assassinating Soleimani was not universally accepted as legal.

Nobody has yet accused DJT of criminal murder. But you actually said he's never instigated a killing. That's arguably true, but he incited an insurrection at the Capitol that did result in some deaths of Americans.

Meanwhile, DJT tried to invite the Taliban to Camp David for a signing ceremony before his advisers told him that wasn't a great idea. I can't believe you're trying to tell us that as bad as DJT is, he may not have been all bad. 🤣 🤣

You don't get it. Literally nobody from ANYWHERE on the political spectrum likes or respects the Cheney name.

also, like I said, the point was simply - if liz fucking cheney can cross party lines to endorse Kamala, then anybody could. I think you keep missing that point. But maybe that's just because people are dumb - because it seems not many got it.

"Texas is going blue one day!"

Give up on this fever dream and put resources elsewhere next time, FFS.

Supposedly the partisanship of people moving into TX is R+20. Florida is reportedly even worse.

Blue states should liberalize housing production so we can accept D leaners who want to move out of MAGAland and preserve house seats/EVs.

Her name was indeed respected by Republicans.

Yeah when she called Dems baby killers!

They're hardcore conservaterrorists. They won't flip even if she does.

To them Democracy is a tool.. if it doesn't work you throw it away. What they can't throw away is conservaterrorism!

It wasn't about converting hardcore conservatives - it was about the Never Trumpers and moderates on the fence.

If they want to be the YIMBY party...then they need to act like it. This starts with blue cities/states actually governing well and enforcing YIMBYism if they have to.

But we know they won't. There needs to be an abundance agenda but the Dems are too slow to realize this.

For every never trumper dems gained, they lost 5 on the left.

That's the only math that makes sense with the loss of her own base!

The number of never Trumpers was vastly overstated to begin with and many will still pull the red lever at the last second inside the voting booth.

Did she lose all those votes from the left? Or from moderates who didn't want to vote for Kamala who did in 2020. How do you know?

So do you have any proof?
I don't think your assessment is unreasonable by any means (catering to moderate Rs loses hard or even moderate Ls) but this is one of those scenarios where degrees matter bigly.

Do you see her at 81 million votes?

We gave 2 free chances to a man hell bent on destroying America by running women against him!

I'm just asking for the data to show where the fewer votes came from because I don't know and you seem to know.

NIMBYs lost big in SF's municipal elections this time.

Because I did tell you so about 2000 times in the migrants thread.. this issue is a trip wire and it's turning hardcore dems into Trumpers.

More than polls you should just *listen* to people..

And ofcourse there was Gaza.

I heard more dems complain about Kam than I heard never trumpers or trumpers!

Maybe I underestimated sexism but that played a part too!

The total vote count for Trump will be about what should have been expected. Of course there are Democrats who voted for Biden in 2020 who voted for Trump in 2024, but there are also voters who voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 who voted for Harris.

Since a lot of states take their time reporting vote counts, it appears as if turnout was almost as high in 2024 as 2020, and the total vote count for Harris will probably be just a few million short of Biden in 2020.

Your data is you said so?

That's amazing!
