Negative news bias in media does a lot of work here not including the actively malicious coverage of Fox et al.
People are uninformed. If they turn on the news they hear about crime. They rarely hear information giving them perspective. Add to that the hyperbole and propaganda from politicians in election season and you'll get caca when the electorate is queried about issues.

"The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter." - Winston Churchill : r/quotes

Still, the alternative to democracy always seems dismal to me.

If this clown wins again then this country deserves what it gets. Hopefully it all collapses sooner rather than later.

A quick collapse might be more entertaining than a real slow one.

*reaches for the support bars on subway train*

Maybe 4 years of unmistakable mayhem in which nobody can deny that it's been catastrophic, followed by the absolute destruction of the R party. Heaven knows, but a Kamala victory would be something entirely different.

I'm turning on David Muir and ABC network evening news. Their election coverage has been very pro Kamala and anti-Trump since even before the debate. They don't tell you who to vote for, of course, but they show Trump stepping in cow turds and Kamala talking, smiling and laughing at her rallies and interviews.

With all due respect.. what destruction of the R party?

Even with Never Trumpers.. the orange clown has more people voting for the R party and him than ever before!

I think we need to face reality.. the party and both him are on cloud 9 and likely headed to power with Elon and Theil's planned shenanigans!

If Kamala wins twice that's 5 Democratic presidencies in the last 6. Project 25 may look like roadkill by that time. Trump will be either 6 feet underground or a vile imitation of the unsavory creature he is today. JD Vance will never be president, cat-people will claw his face without mercy.

Trump cancelling upcoming appearances and his staff said it was because he’s “exhausted”.

Donald Trump -- The oldest man ever to be nominated by a major party for the Presidency, someone who is keeping secrets about his health and degenerating before our eyes. Rumors are starting to circulate that Trump has been suffering from a series of transient ischemic attacks (micro-strokes). He's not up to the task of being President. Even if he wins, he won't make it through the term, and Vance would take over (ugghh!)

Plus ... You do reach a point when Adderall, or any stimulant, no longer works after abusing it for years. An old man can only handle so much Adderall before it catches up with him. The fucking guy is rage tweeting at 2 a.m. 4 nights a week on Truth Social. Those all-night Adderall benders eventually catch up with you, don't they Donnie?

The Media and all the Trump clowns hounded Joe Biden for being too old and frail, (which is true) but he seems far more sound in mind and body than Trump.

What a joke. The President of the United States does not have the luxury of being "exhausted". This alone should be disqualifying. He may be exhausted, but his campaign is cancelling the interviews because they are all disasters. Just weeks out from the election, the more he talks, the more his unfitness is revealed. He is incapable of saying anything other than his usual incoherent whining lies wrapped in self-aggrandizement.
So when can I expect every national news coverage to start talking about the former President’s age and his unusual need for rest.

Aren't you forgetting W. and the 6-3 SCOTUS?

Your assessment sounds like wishful dreaming at this point.

W is before that. Also, arguably W was a gift to the R's by the SCOTUS.

The SCOTUS is a big problem, but presumably non-partisan.

Project is always waiting for the next R president. They'll just rebrand it for whatever year they take office.

That's why they said Democrats need to always win, but GOP just needs to win once and it's over.

Yeah seriously, what destruction? They own the SCOTUS, most courts, state legislatures, governor's mansions, soon the Senate, etc.

Hard to feel optimistic about anything.

Seriously man (not making fun of you)..

Did you have a stroke?

Call 911 or get family member/ someone you trust to help you!

I'm genuinely concerned since we all have fantasies but memory loss after a stroke is very real!

ABC news covered it tonight and Kamala's reaction at a rally, starting at 1:08:

There is one thing I'm certain of in this election. America will get the election, and the results and the ensuing shitshow, they deserve.

I know I said this way back in this thread, and I know polls aren't votes. But fuck fuck fuck if Trump wins. I've been thinking about if that shit happens a lot more lately. Before I just tried to ignore it, but the possibility of it is really lingering in my brain.

I can't fucking believe this country. And even if Kamala wins, it's going to be far too close. I just watched highlights from a rally where Trump said "no more questions lets dance" after only answering a couple then dancing like a rhythmless moron for what seemed like an hour. Even his "dance" moves make me want to punch him in the face. I don't think there's anything he does that doesn't make me wish I could punch him in the face. And the MAGAs harp on how weird Walz looks when he waves? LOL.

This is America. This has been America the entire time. That's what this country is. America has always been this fucked. All of the Republican Presidents have been every bit as much of evil clowns as Turmp, just that the entire apparatus of American culture put on this veneer of it somehow being more respectable. They all were as shitty as he is. The Democrat ones have been what Americans seem to think the Republican ones were, which is to say, actually hardline Capitalist, fiscally sound, Christian, strong militarily, follows norms, does what they genuinely believe is in best interest of America. And that will almost certainly continue (hell that's been true for California governors and those would generally be considered the most likely to be staunchly far left).

Here is a fact that no one can deny. If Trump looses this election, Trumpism could see a decline in the Republican Party. No one would want to vote for someone or their ideals if that person lost twice.

How can he have lost twice if he hadn't even lost once in their mind? Him losing or winning, doesn't matter, both outcomes confirm what they believe already.

You are as delusional about the sway that Turmp has and the corruption of the Republican party as his followers are about him. Turmpism will continue even after he's dead. The Christian fascist movement will continue after Turmp is gone.

Some of you are gonna be in for a rude 2nd/3rd/4th/+ awakening when you realize, this shit is only gonna get worse. The tech industry is shifting hard right. Some of them are openly talking about literal police states used to forcefully keep people in line. And by that, they mean anyone criticizing them. They're already doing stuff like giving police face detection databases where they catalogue every available picture about you (if I'm not mistaken there's already been cases where a cop took a pic of someone with their phone, then searched for them on one of those databases to find out info and then began harassing them, think it was women they were trying to get with). And the rich guy that was sending around vehicles with cameras doing face detection to try to get student protestors kicked out of school. Oh, and they're conveniently opted out of those databases (if they have enough clout at least). Microsoft and Amazon (not sure if Google has yet, or is supposed to), built Israel black boxed (meaning the companies doing them can't even access what Israel is doing on there) data centers that Israel is using as part of their genocide. They won't even need to tattoo the ID numbers like the Nazis did with modern tech.

One thing about Trump keeping a lighter schedule this year than previously is that he doesn't have any high profile surrogates to really pick up the slack. Watching Obama run a rally for Harris in Arizona while she's doing one in Michigan tonight and it's her third event of the day.

I'm not sure that matters and that's frankly exactly what Turmp wants (since he wants it to be all about him alone as he doessn't want anyone to be able to usurp him so that Republicans couldn't do to him what Democrats did to Joe). Notice how, as usual, Republicans are doing all the shit they were howling about liberals for? Supporting a clearly unwell, way too old man?

I genuinely don't think there is such a thing as an undecided voter in that I don't think there is anyone that all this American political theatre is gonna change the mind of. The actual undecided are the ones that it literally will just come down to how they feel that day. Did their wife/girlfriend piss them off the night before? Fuck it, I'll vote for Turmp, gotta keep that bitch in line! Did I encounter a homeless person on the way to vote? Fuckin liberals. Stop and get gas before, and it was higher/lower than expected. Or maybe you went out to eat last night and remember how much you hated being a waiter/waitress? Studen loans, remember Democrats tried to get you some help, while Republicans say fuck you you don't deserve it after they got billions in handouts? It was already basically only diehard Turmp fans going to Turmp's shit. Most major wealth is permanently Republican, and even the tech industry is beginning to openly court right wing shit. The lines formed already except for those that will just not vote because the line is too long, or they decided to take a shit instead, or whatever other bullshit reason "undecided voters" give for claiming to be undecided (when they're often like Libertarians, claiming one thing but just being full of shit).

Also, Kari Lake has been in Arizona spreading Turmp's diarrhetoric the entire time. And others have too. Hell, not sure what thread it was in, but talking about Nikki Haley still stumping for Turmp and he's still openly shitting on her. Same with DeSantis. If McCain was still alive he'd be griping but he'd also still be voting for Turmp, just like he did when he was alive. So its not like he doesn't have anyone spreading his bullshit, even the ones who hate him still will vote for his ass.

This election, more than any I can remember is less about rhetoric, I think everyone has tuned that shit out already. It basically boils down to 3 things. People that know the reality (people voting to prevent abortion bans for instance), people that believe the same old bullshit (economy is better under Republican presidents), and then people that hate the entire thing and basically are just gonna coin flip who they vote for, or will vote in dumbest ways possible then bitch "See that's why I don't vote!"
