It would probably be healthier for the country if he loses decisively. A massive rejection of the type of toxic politics that he's been peddling would be great. Maybe even the GOP could recover from the depths of insanity that it's descended to in recent years.

After that I don't really care what happens to him as long as he isn't allowed any role with any political power.

Yeah I mean I'm putting those odds at 98% they endorse Trump. I don't think people like RFK in his crew are capable of regretting anything shitty they do. I mean this is just who they are.

Unfortunately even a full rejection by the people won't end this, it just makes the minority feel even further oppressed and will result in even more extreme measures.

I don't know what the answer is but it's not coming this year.

There's always a small minority that has 'fringe' beliefs. Hopefully people will realise that listening to them is counterproductive if you want to get elected.

His family disavowed him for his anti-vax stances. Endorsing the Trump would be the last straw. I have to think that would be something he'd rue considerably by and by. That's not your everyday family.

I mostly agree with you. Although this election won't end extreme polarization, it could end Trump as we know him. He's too old to run again, and he won't have blanket immunity to skate on all of his legal troubles.

Having said that, MAGA is approx. 1/3 of the electorate. It's not a small minority and although they will cry and mourn for their fuhrer if they lose, they will continue to be a real nuisance going forward.

There are a whole range of possible scenarios that could play out, so right now it's anybody's guess. Even if you had a repeat of 2020 and Harris wins by a decent margin, Trump isn't going away quietly if it takes a week to call the election. So the Electoral College margin does matter, not just for appearances sake but also because it directly influences how quickly the election is called. Unfortunately mail-in ballots take a while to count, so waiting for days after the election wouldn't surprise anyone. A larger margin for Harris will also dissuade House Republican dirtbags from trying to illegally interfere.

I doubt it will happen but a Harris victory like Obama in 2008 would destroy Trump once and for all.

LMAO at thinking RFK Jr will have enough self-awareness to regret his decisions.

Trump is gonna get a net 3% bump from the Kennedy vote I think, that puts them neck to neck in polling ... add in the electorate and it goes to Trump.
