Well here we have it, the main event is on - Kamala vs Donald. Predictions? Analysis? Strategies & Tactics?

The Democrats now have hope and energy and enthusiasm for the first time in this entire presidential race cycle. The Trump campaign has to reset completely. This race is on.

I do like the approach the Harris campaign is taking - for example, a press-release by them today on Trump talking on Fox:

"The Harris campaign just sent out a press release with this headline: "Statement on a 78-Year-Old Criminal's Fox News Appearance."

This is the energy we need. Listened to some Brian Lehrer this morning on NPR - the youth are fired the hell up for Kamala. What's the word on your streets?

No shit. While it's been slowly and gradually squashed down into a tiny corner of my brain by reality, there was always a little thought of "this guy is someone doing some Borat-style infiltration of society just to see if he can actually get elected." The ultimate troll.

But no, he's just that weird to go with the over-the-top ugly American shtick. And apparently he's the right stuff for a huge chunk of the good folk of this land, which says a lot about them.

NY Times writes that Kennedy is now drawing votes from Trump more than Harris at a roughly 2:1 margin in their latest survey. Hilarious that his campaign is funded by right wing dipshits.

Not surprising if true. RFK jr admitted his main goal was to take down Biden, and he's more similar to Trump than he is to the Democrats. Both are anti-vaccine (Trump not taking credit for the vaccines developed under his watch were big in losing him 2020 IMO, holy own goal batman) which also means anti-science. If you are an anti-science rube who has held your nose to vote Trump, well here's your alternative.

Probably mostly an age thing though. I heard from several people that they liked RFK compared to the other two because he wasn't a fossil. Well, that argument is out the window.

As we look at polling that comes out over the next couple weeks we should keep in mind that unless he gets shot again this is probably Trump's high water mark. Especially right on the heels of the convention.

They have to keep pushing the abortion issue, need to sway as many women as possible. Especially since Vance said on a podcast "During a podcast interview in January 2022, then-candidate JD Vance said he “certainly would like abortion to be illegal nationally” and was “sympathetic” to the view that a national ban was necessary to stop women from traveling across states to obtain an abortion."

Possible scenario: In a few minutes Trump is gonna realize that he cant win vs Harris. So he is gonna drop out too and let someone else run in exchange for a pardon.

No, he's too prideful and doesn't recognize his own fear, dismisses it should it pop its head up from the sand. He won in 2016 when the polls said he was a loser, so he will perpetuate the myth of his indomitability. If he loses again, he'll likely claim he actually won if for no other reason than to keep the hangers-on of his cult following. Then the court cases will dog him, probably to the grave. If he can keep his nose above water until the next general there's a chance he will get pardons then for his federal crimes. Delay delay delay, that's his counsel's goal, meantime throw shit at the wall and see what sticks.

I will give that a vote of "most likely"... However, it's for all the chips, he is fucked when the court cases pick back up.. the documents case etc...
