Got one of my Kamala t-shirts today, rocked it on one evening dog walk, and got two thumbs up - let's gooooo! Waiting on a tri-blend one to arrive so it's cooler for bike rides vs cotton or mostly cotton. I know the assignment.

I'm not exaggerating much when I say that I might actually get shot wearing that here in certain areas at least. We have "stand your ground" it's-ok-to-shoot-someone-if-you-feel-threatened bs laws. There are shit-tons of people carrying too, probably more than ever since Desantis did away with needing to apply for a license, making it easier than ever.

If not shot, most definitely I'd be heckled and challenged and if they saw which car I got out of, it would be keyed (one of the reasons I don't get bumper stickers, the other reason being I don't like bumper stickers) :D I don't think I'm alone...I've never ever seen a Democrat t-shirt that I can recall, seen many a Trump one, yet Orange and Seminole counties here went for Biden. We Democrats keep our head down, there be wackos......

As far as getting things done and hobbled....well, it's better than Trump getting anything done so I'm not going to worry about that at this time. We have clear and present danger, gridlock is far better than what might be.

Wow. Bold strategy, hope they aren't wasting effort here in FL. Especially not in the counties the Villages are in (it's large enough to be in parts of 3 counties).

Not a fan of that place (no urge to live there) for a few reasons though I will say they do love live music--and as a musician, it's damn hard to get gigs in there as they are really picky and pay quite a bit. Still not enough to make me ever want to live there :)

Biden had something like 31% of the vote in the main county Sumter, Hillary had slightly worse (no surprise there). I doubt Harris will do any better, probably a fair bit worse considering in 2022 I'm reading there were 12.5 times more white people there than any other ethnicity. Old, white, affluent voters usually spells TRUMP and not some brown Democrat female.

Put another way, Obama won Florida twice but never won the Villages.

My county is an hour away and barely went for Biden, which is one reason I can barely stomach living here (but will be moving when I can).

D efforts in FL are pretty much volunteer centric so not costing the campaign much really. Rebuilding the FL Dem party into something competent that wins elections is really a decade long project that somebody who knows what they are doing needs to get started.

Oh no doubt, and like I said, Obama won twice here. Florida hasn't always been as backwards as it seems to be right now under Desantis.

The Democrats are definitely not a well-oiled machine here on any level.

I just thought it was curious they held that where they did in the state :) There might be more Trump-friendly communities than the Villages, but I'm struggling to think of any :)

Between Desantis aggressively banning abortion in the state, and Senator Scott’s lack of charisma, anti-abortion stance, and his plans to sunset social security, the Democrats have a chance to flip the Senate seat which might just save a majority for the dems. Winning the presidential race in Florida is still extremely unlikely though.

Elon reposts altered Kamala video, violating x’s policy

There's no end to that guy's sanctimonious hypocrisy.

[Edit] Why do so many serious journalists and otherwise sensible celebs still post on "X"? It's just Elon's personal vanity platform now, why lend him your credibility?

I guess they like to get musked, I.e. silenced for their questioning the man child

A major concern for me with Biden remaining on the ticket was that a lot of Ds could have stayed home resulting in losing winnable house/senate races. I no longer have this worry.

This. I especially put the Maryland senate seat as a tossup, probably favoring Hogan, but now it's probably like 85% chance for Alsobrooks.

Yeah, but a blue tsunami would put us on a better trajectory, can hopefully prevent future catastrophes for democracy. Immunity is a timebomb, the Court is festering infection.

He's preaching to the choir here but millions of people do not understand it. Their entire understanding of government rises and sets with "who is president right now and why isn't he fixing everything?"
Elizabeth Warren has already stated Dems will waive the filibuster to codify Roe.

Remember folks, Dems need a majority in the Senate to change rules.

Sadly, BOTH could be true.

Yeah unlike squishy and some others, I'm not convinced Kam can do it. Just remember Obama and the polls saying he was going to win by 14 points.. he won by 7. Hillary and the polls saying she was winning by 5, she lost by 2. Biden and the polls saying he was winning by 10, he won by 4.

The polls are rigged for dem overconfidence.. be very very cautious!

After saying this kind of thing for a while now, and having some of your top aides plead guilty to election fraud WHILE losing like 53 out of 54 of the cases (iirc) that you brought to try to "prove" your own lies about the election....and fomenting a coup no matter how laughable it was on Jan 6...

You don't get the benefit of the doubt. This is not trolling, or joking, or a "misunderstanding".

Believe these fucks when they say they'll do away with voting. There is no doubt in my mind that if they feel they can't cheat their way to winning elections, they'll try to do away with elections. All while lying that the other side is cheating.

Any maga types trying to shrug this off to me just get the hand.
David Frum was on the money in 2018: "If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy"

Don't forget PCGecko, TurdMahal, Sp33dy, and others.

Felix may be the lone intelligent one.. if he ends up deciding he does not like fascism & authoritarianism.
Felix is NOT the intelligent one, you clearly haven't been paying attention to him over the years. He is a full-on fucking clown.
I think you are giving them too much credit - t he only conservative here that had brains is @Brovane
Jaskalas, for all his doomerism, used to be more conservative than he is now as well.

They had no choice but to shoot you, clearly a Marxist Antifa soldier that was about to, IDK, blow up a church or something!
Sadly, BOTH could be true.
I guess it depends on how loosey goosey you are with the definition of "guaranteed", as both of those situations would already mean Trump is guaranteed victory, which does not appear to be the case.

I think they've abandoned both democracy and conservatism. If anything the dem party is more "conservative" than they are.. with them abandoning everything for fascism.

BTW there's this now too:
