an officer with his beautiful german sheperd was walking around Hawthorne Airport, there was a display of a B17 and B24. I was just walking behind them, maybe 4 feet away and the dog came over and jumped up on me. he was very friendly, but I was so surprised that a police dog would do that that he almost knocked me over.

pretty sure I had no drug paraphernalia in my pockets ;)

I did just have a turkey burger, maybe he was hungry. $400 per person for a short flight in a B17, how about that.

Never had one jump on me. That is odd.

About eight years ago I stopped at a Pantry on the way back from picking up a QP. My buddy had been smoking to test the product. I went inside and got a cup of coffee and when I came back out a K9 unit was parked right beside me and the dog was going fvcking nuts. I felt sure I was busted because the cop was just standing in front of his truck. I walked up, looked at the dog and just stopped figuring there was no use getting in the car. The cop looked at me and said "oh don't be scared, go ahead, he does that sometimes".

All I could think while driving home was "you dumbfvck don't you think there might be a reason he does that sometimes".

I've worked around Military Police K-9s before and it depends on the dog and the mission he's trained for. Some dogs are for crowd control, some are narc dogs and some are explosives dogs. The crowd control ones you don't want to get too close to. They are overprotective of their handler and pretty trigger happy. The other two types are pretty laid back though and get along well with people because that's how they've been trained. You sure don't want an explosives dog to attack a person who is carrying a bullet in their pocket, much less someone strapped with a bomb.

That's hilarous. :D

I was going to make a comment about the drugs but it's not worth getting half the forum pissed at me. They can be pretty irrational if they have the munchies.

no, I'm working on my instrument rating and that $400 is another 3 hours or so of training. it was pretty cool later when I was driving to the gym to see a fvcking B17 flyby at about 1000'.
