Ok, recently I got infected with a virus. I couldnt use my USB Linksys wireless nework adapter, and there were a variety of other problems. I decided to do a fresh install of Windows fter running a kaspersky check.
I have a SATA WD 75 GB raptor, so I went through the normal process of the hitting F6 in setup of windows, and come to find out my floppy drive wasnt working. After messing around with the ribbon cable I got it to work. I thought I had successfully reinstalled windows, but when I went to install my Video Card driver, I found that neither of my CD drives were found by windows.
I rebooted and checked the BIOS, sure enough they were there, so I rebooted again, and I got a message saying "No hard disk found! Press F1 to continue" After pressing F1 I get a message saying "Please insert boot media now". I put in my XP home disc, rebooted and started XP setup again. After putting in my floppy disc for the SATA HDD to install and selecting the Windows XP VIA driver, I got a message from the windows setup saying "No Mass Storage Device Detected, Press F3 to quit setup".
This is were Im stuck, the CD drives can be used, so I know that they actually work and transmit data, but when I was able to get into windows they werent detected. When I try to use the SATA HDD to install windows, it cant find it, yet my SATA cable is glowing blue like it is supposed to. Can anyone help me in finding a way to detect my HD so I cant install windows???
