I'm trying to instal my windows on a RAID stripe array
at my nforce 3 ultra chipset mainboard ...

after flashing the bios (had to do this because my cpu
was not recognized at first ) it seems impossible to
instal my windows on the RAID array ... if I instal on
normal pata ide it seems no problem ...

is there anyone who can help me with some advise ???

setup :

msi k8n-neo2 platinum
4x maxtor sata 7200 80 gb
1gb GEIL one memory
msi n6600 256mb

raid controller = nforce raid controller

could it be that the nvraid driver doesn't work on dualcore ???

Have you pressed F6 when the windows installer warned you about RAID/SCSI drivers?

yeah i did and the mobo does recognize the array and so does the windows instal

I installed it before I flashed the bios already ... it was running as a normal cpu (single core)
then i flashed it to make it see the dual core and I wanted to instal xp again
and now it crashes right after it copies the instalation files to the stripe set

(when it boots from those disks)

Nope, I don't. Also, I know it's not much of a help but you could try:

- try 1.A or 1.B bios (the other than you've already tried, both supports X2)
- try to download a newer NVIDIA driver and copy that to a floppy disk, you need the directory that contains txtsetup.oem and try again with the install. I think it must be WHQL though.
- you could also try to disable every PCI devices in the bios that are not essential for Windows to install itself. Removing PCI cards may also help.

I would also set the BIOS to default only to make sure nothing is set over its specs.

The only problem I had was with SATA1/2 because it doesn't have a fix PCI clock even if you set AGP to 67 (and lock everything else connected to the PCI) so I was unable to boot. Later I found info on the net that for some reason it works this way (the clock cannot be fix for SATA1/2). But I don't think it has anything to do with your setup cause you wouldn't try to install windows with everything overclocked, memory set to 276MHz and HT on 1245.2 would you? :)

well I'll try to set everything to normal ... wich isn't so much
and try to get a newer version of the driver on the disk ...

however the driver date is stating 2004 and I think it's the same on the
disk ...

weird things because the raid works on my other boot (nomal ide)
and so do the two cores ...

all help and advice welkome
