I recently put together a new system with an K8N Neo Platinum MOBO. System runs great except that it runs very hot. Idle it runs about 72C. I have reseated the fan, heatsink, added thermal compound, bought a new case, added 120mm input and output fans and nothing helps not even a few degrees. Is anyone else having this problem or know of a possible problem of the bios mis-reporting the temp. The only way I can run anything is to turn off the MSI Core Center.

It's a bios problem. Update to the newest bios and your temperature problems should be solved. They just released bios version 1.4, and it's working well for most people. You can also check out the MSI forums to read people whine and bitch about every problem they have with the board, but sometimes there are helpful posts. I have the same mobo as you, and just like you, I freaked when I saw those absurd temperatures. Use motherboard monitor (MBM), its way better than Corecenter. If you have to use corecenter, make sure you download the latest one from MSI. I edited the voltage config file for the Neo Platinum so the voltages are correct (as close as possible). Email me at monoab@hotmail.com if you have questions.

Thanks for the reply, I will try this when I get home from work tonight. Sorry it took so long to get back, had to go out of town on short notice.
