Hi & Thanks for reading this.
I am considering a K8N Neo2 Platinum - is this a reasonable one good for moderate MB upgrade? I need to replace Gigabyte 7VRXP MB & Athlon 1900 and some 3200 ram.
Looking to head to Athlon 64 territory.
Am not into OC , but want better frame rates for the journy into SWAT4, HL-2, etc...

Have an SGI 1x14 LCD screen that takes DVI input, but not sure if I should use it vs the standard vid card cable....
Just got an ATI x700 AGP.... may upgrade to a GT6600 before my 30 day 'trial' expires...

Comments from you guys who are hot on this stuff would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Seems to be one of the better and more popular NF3 boards. I have one and would recommend it.
On the other hand, if you think you are going to upgrade to the 6600GT you may as well get an NF4 PCIE board and a PCIE 6600GT.

Aye, there's the rub. I'll be buying into a whole new system. Right now I have an ATI X700 I just bought - with 3 weeks on the return policy (AGP card) that I stuck into my GA 7VRXP. I either have to hurry, so I can get time to order a new board, ram, cpu & fan or buy another video board so i have time to do that, return it and get the pcie...
I have a Lian Li case with 4 fans, and an antec 350 watt PSU. But would proably have to go new PSU due to the pcie.

RAM?
cpu - planning on an athlon 64 3000
The SGI monitor is 9.5 x 14 (was $1200 back when I had better pay)

mb? which? am vacillating with msi and asus, slightly considering gigabyte?

Thanks for the reply & the help

I love my K8N Neo2 Plat.

My K8N has not failed me yet...I love it...can't speak for the onboard audio, but everything else rocks. Go for it. Best on the market of the nForce3 Ultra boards.
