K8N Neo2 Nforce RAID Drive installation

Hi Evereyone,

I installed XP in an IDE drive and during the installation, I forgot to install the Nforce RAID driver from the diskette 🙁. I didn't have time yet to try a through manual installation of the driver after XP installation is completed, however I wonder anyone has any experience regarding this?

Your comments on manually installing the driver in a running XP system would be very much appreciated.
Btw, system is very stable and running all the latest drivers and utilities, except the RAID driver.

K8N Neo2 Platinum / 64 3500+
IDE0 - Seagate 80GB and 40GB.
IDE1 - Liteon 851S + Samsung SM-352F
No SATA yet (planning to get Seagate 200G x 2 though)

Thanks + Cheers. 🙂

If you look under control pannel/administrative tools/computer management/device manager/ you should see "scsi/raid controlers listed." click on it and update the drivers using your floppy of whereever you store them.

Now go to computer management/disk management and you should see the sata drive(s). Format if necessary and should be good to go.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Machiavelli,

Thanks a lot for the reply. In fact, the reason I doubted this procedure was, some were emphasizing that raid drivers should be installed during XP installation. I wondered whether nforce raid was an exception which doesn't allow to be installed manually after the xp installation.

Maybe they were referring to XP installation on SATA / RAID chains, then it makes sense.

Thanks again. Cheers 🙂
