I'm using bios 1.3 and it gives me two different settings for the CPU voltage.
I just want to bump the vcore up.
But there is this stupid percentage stuff.
Whats the deal?

Easy, You set your [Adjust CPU VID] to lets say 1.425v, your [CPU Voltage] to, lets say Over VID 3.3%.
What you get is:

1.425 + [(3.3x1.425)/100] = 1.425+0.047025 that's roughly 1.472 volts

keep in mind that this board undervolts the VID by almost 0.1v (if i find the link where that got measured i'll link it).

cheers

Edit
There you go scroll down to see what Polygon measured with different bioses (BIOSES: 1.2; 1.3; 1.36; 1.37; 1.37mod; 1.41)

Well, i think im going to need a vcore of atleast 1.6v to see any real OCs.
And the %'s only factor from default vcore right?
so i have to work with the 1.4v default
with 10% beeing the highest, all i could get is 1.54v
do i need to get some beta bios or modded bios?
cause i'm pretty sure i'll need atleast 1.6v to get to 2.5GHz (250x10)
that link you sent was great, any other links of that nature?

BUT...
if this board under volts by 0.1v then:
1.4v x 10% = 1.54v - 0.1v = 1.44v
???
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why cant it just be like in BIOS v1.2
but i cant use 1.2 because im winchester
PLEASE HELP ME!

Hmmm now lets see...

Am not going to give any answers and solutions coz it'll take away the benefits of learning from trials and research. i can link to this site but i am not responsible for messing up anything! use what's there at your own risk.

A word of advice: search and research, make mistakes, try stuff, fail, try again... It's worth it.

cheers :)

what's the highest limit you can safely raise the vcore on a winchester 3500+ to that won't result in it dying after only a year?

I would set it to 1.5v with 3.3% and that gets 1.47-1.48v on my board....so my board is undervoltimng about .07-.08v

1.5v with 5% gets me 1.51-1.52v...should be 1.575v so about .05-.-06v undervolt

1.5v with 8.3% gets me 1.57-1.58v....should be like 1.624v....so again about .04-.05v

1.5v with 10% gets me 1.62v....should be 1.65v...so about a .03v

Then agian the whole board may report those incorrectly as well...

It appears the further or higher I set it the lower and lower my board undervolts..Not to menion the vcore actually increase .01-.02v on my board under load which is nice....No droop!!!

pretty lame these % things MSI has got going... After duvie told me about it I got EPOX instead which has .025V increments up to 1.85V. More used to that and more exacting.

I would install BIOS 1.41 or 1.5 version. They are more stable for OC.
