Just got mine set up and i cant find anything in the bios for changing processor voltage, ht mutliplier or processor multiplier. I have found settings for changing fsb (after going to manual under jumperless settings, but nothing on the other 3) has anyone found them within the bios?

I read somewhere that you have to enable to cool n quiet for those items to appear.

pci lock is present have to switch to agp of 67 in bios though. Appears to be well built, havent realy gotten to overclocking, though i will in the next day or so. Assuming i can find voltage/fid controls, and ht controls, I will be very happy with the board. Though i hope they come up with a bios update that increases memory voltage as 2.7 is kind of low for the cap (especialy since my ram wants 2.85). I will post back when i get some results.

cool and quite gave me voltage and fid controls. Starting at 4, going to stock with .5 multiples. Cant boot over 220 (going to try switching sata ports, as it may be a similar issue to the msi in that 1,2 dont like have frequency) still havent found hypertransport controls. Voltage goes to 1.85 (which is shocking on my dtr)

whoops, must have been tired, hypertransport mutliplier. Want to lower it to 3 so i can raise. As currently i am hitting random reboots with an fsb over 220, regardles of processor mutliplier or ram settings, or sata ports used. So i want to try a mutliplier of 3 for hypertransport which should let me hit a much better fsb (ram has tested to 287 (at 3 3 3 8 on antoher board) and processor is stable at 2.5 at 1.6 volts on another board, so i should be able to get atleast 2.4 or 2.5 with reasonable ram speed on this board.

ok, regardless of 1 stick or 2 or using asus's built in overclocking 219 runs perfectly stable prime can run all day fine, 220 reboots randomly, generaly after a few seconds and sometimes doesnt make it to windows. It is not a heat/memory or voltage issue, switching sata ports doesnt help. Cant quite figure it out.

interesting update, just clearly into uncharted territory for me!

so if you're hitting a 219 FSB, what does that raise the CPU speed to?

whatever the issue turns out to be, is it something that can be addressed in a bios update, or are users stuck?

mine is on the way from new egg.

Hi everybody,
That was me on the AMd forums. We also have a thread on the extremeoc forums.
I don't think the 220 is sata related. I an booting with ide, no sata in the system and still hit that wall.

Having to enable coolnquiet for the other settings to show up SUCKS! I played with this board for hours last night. At one point i couldnt even boot.

As every user who's received the k8n-e would say, nice board (better quality control than the msi) but no real oc'ing features. I guess the only other option is an epox or ebaying the a643200+.

i'm not interested in o/c'ing and abhor dealing with the associated far out technical gremlins, so barring any quality issues i anticipate being happy with the K8N-E.

GREAT write-up on the msi forums csrx! Its a compelling nod toward the K8N-E, especially if its turns out the issues you experienced with the MSI were not unique to just your board.

csrx give asus a little time, i have yet to see them release a board that wasnt among the best in oc'ing so they will fix whatever issues we are having. Also have seen person on anandtech who has gotten to 233, so maybe he has a newer bios revision or he solved the issues, will post when i hear back from him.

Your right, i know they will probably correct the problems at some point. I went to their site to see how often they release bios updates, but couldnt find something uniform across the board.

At this time, I might just get rid of the 3200+Newcastle and stick to my 3.0c northwood. So unless someone can talk me out of this, PM me if you are interested in buying this new AMD64 chip from me (only been used to test out the K8N-e). I'll come back to AMD when nforce4 is released and tested.

what realy bugs me is that they still dont have drivers/bios/manuals on the webpage and if i try to register for asus vip club i cant becasue board isint yet listed, they better get that updated asap.
