K8N-E Deluxe, but what else.

K8N-E Deluxe is a definite. I want this board. The question is whether I should get the AMD 64 3400 with ram that costs me about $150, or go with the AMD 64 3200 and go with better RAM.

I do more programming and application work than gaming, but I would love to be able to play some games at decent frames (I never play games higher than 1024x764 so this isn't a huge thing).

I have been looking at this memory:

But I can't afford that and the 3400. Should I just go with cheaper 'value' ram? I want 1gb and want to buy another GB in the new year if I can.

What kind of cooling do I need with this hardware?

If you plan on overclocking, definitely go with the better RAM.

If you're not OC'ing, I'd go with the 3400+ and $150 RAM.

better ram.....tho i only got geil value ram to go with my k8n-e, its doin 2.4ghz right now an ive been playin UT and doom3 all day

jus get the better ram.....and the 3200 will easily match the 3400 with a timid 10% oc
