Hi,

First off, let me thank you for taking the time to read this. I value your input, so if you can contribute, please spend a moment to do so.

System specs are in my sig; I will note my memory is PC3200/DDR400 and I have two 512 sticks. I can get the timings if necessary.

I have never overclocked a processor/etc before; I have only done so [carefully] with my graphics card. Two completely different things, of course!

I'm employing the latest bios revision [1005] on the K8N-E motherboard, and I've manually set the AGP to 67mhz to defeat the 53mhz error that seems to plague these 'boards. So far so good.

My XP-120 is soon to arrive and I want to venture into the world of overclocking. I've read alot of guides and etc, but I'm still a bit confused. What I'm basically aiming for is a mhz increase that will last a long time. I am not interested in a short-term high preformance boost. I'm sure with that in mind I can still attain a nice preformance increase with this combination. I've read that when you overclock, you should just focus on one thing at a time instead of trying to do it all at once. Well, I only want to attain one thing. :)

If I raise the stock voltage to the CPU in a hypothetical 2800/XP-120 configuration, what else do I need to adjust? What else do I need to worry about? I just want more mhz, nothing more. I know this board has PCI/AGP lock. Will I have to worry about anything related to that? Will I have to mess with RAM timings?

I know alot of this is trial and error, but I get nervous with this stuff. I appreciate any tips/input/linkage you can give me to make this process a bit easier on my obsessive-compulsive mind.

Regards,

Christopher

Ok, I know there's a few holes in my logic but I'm always seeking a nudge in the right direction. :p
