K8 sampling

According to Van Smith the K8 (Hammer) has beens sampling for the last month or so, putting AMD ahead of schedule for it's next generation processor
 
It will only be good if AMD or NVIDIA release a chipset for it. I hope AMD doesn't count on Via providing the chipset for the K8.
 
Yeah......read that too!😉 Didn't post it though because other sites are denying the rumor!🙁
 
I sure hope they get these out on time. The more and more I hear about the .13 micron P4s the more and more I worry for AMD. Now I dont mean to start a flame here because I own a 1.2ghz Athlon4, but I think the K8 series is really important for AMD, so they can prove they are a contender and they are going to consistanly put out good chips. I think they need it to show that the K7 wasnt them getting lucky. Hopefully they will nail this one because I am rather fond of AMD. But personally I am waiting for the K9 chip, because I like dogs 😉
