K7V+Gladiac problems

I just posted this in the Technical support but thought I would stand more chance in this one...
I just got a K7V to substitute for my k7m (I was getting lower performance with a Gladiac than with a TNT2...). Everything seemd to be working well except Direct3D. When I run NFS-PU, in the login page I can see the background (rotating garage) but the foreground is messed up - black and nothing writen, so I can't start the game. It does not freeze. When I run 3DMark2000, it only gets to the first tests introductory screen and flickers it, and the computer locks up... Here is my setup:
-Elsa Gladiac (tried both Elsa's 5.22 and Detonator 5.30)
-Asus K7V Bios 1.005a
-128Mb HSDram
-SB Live! value 9latest drivers from CL)
-Creative Modem Blaster 56K
-Adaptec AHA1906 (PCI SCSI)
-HD-DVD-CDRW...

Windows Me (could this be the prob? Never tried it before...)

I have the K7V and Gladiac and have not had any problems. How long have you had the Gladiac? Is it too late to get a replacement. I'm getting 7012 on 3dmark 2000 with my 900 Athlon.

I've had it for 2 weeks. Could it be a problem with the board? It worked on the k7m, even though it was slower than the TNT2...

I don't see how the TNT2 could be faster than the Gladiac in anything. I would return it while you can just i case.

Apparently the via drivers for the k7v don't install completely with the installer application (saw this in some random forum about the geforce). I am going to try what they suggested tonight and hpopefully it will work...

JPT could you post what the fix for the via drivers was. My performance is a bit slower than the averag system.
