:disgust: My buddy has a system with these specs: Enlight 300w ATX Case, Abit K7T Raid motherboard (not using RAID), AMD Athlon 1000 (Thunderbird 200mhz bus, not overclocked), 512 mb memory, Creative DVD, Iomega 12x4x32 CDRW, Geforce 2 GTS video, Creative Sound Live Value, 30 & 40 gig Hard drives, PCI Firewire card, PCI Network Card & USR Modem. He also uses a Razor Mouse through the onboard USB, an Iomega Jaz, scanner & Flash Card reader through a self power USB hub.
He was running this system with WinME since Dec. 2000 with no problems at all. Last week he did a fresh install of WindowsXP Professional. He had some problems installing and had to install about 3 times before it took. The system now runs stable except for one problem. If he plugs in the self powered USB Hub or any USB device into the onboard USB port, it will either lock the computer up at that moment or get power for a few seconds, then lose power and will not allow him to shut down the computer without doing a reset. ACPI is turned off in BIOS. He has updated to the newest VIA 4-in-One drivers and newest BIOS for motherboard.
Anyone have any ideas? Appreciate any help!
