K7S5A with Duron 1.3 and MSI Geforce2 MX400

I recently put together a rig with K7S5A with Duron 1.3 and MSI Geforce2 MX400. When I went to boot the fan started the CD rom and the harddrive seemed to go. But I didn't get any display on CRT. I believe I have a bad Video card. Can anybody suggest other things to check/
 
Same thing happened to me with my Biostar MV71A and Athlon XP1700. For some reason that setup did not like my Antec 300W PS. It works fine on a cheapie Future Power 250W PS, go figure... I put the Antec back in my TBird 750 machine and it works fine.

So, try the following:

1) Try a different power supply.
2) Make sure mb is not grounding out on anything in the case (try running in out of the case if need be.

Does the vid card work in a different computer?
 
Try reseating and re-reseating the vid card. The AGP slot is really tight.
Also check ocworkbench for their forum on this MB.
 
u most likely need to reseat the video card.

also, your mobo might be shorting out on the case or tray (whichever it's attached directly to)...u can try taking the mobo out of the case and placing it on a non-conductive material (magazine, cardboard, etc.) and boot it up from there, making sure the video card is tightly secured and ram is seated properly
