K7S5A USB header pins

Anyone knows the pin diagram of the USB port?
I have a module from an Asus A7V133 and wondering if I can use it with the K7S5A.

Don't know about that specific board but in the past Asus and ECS used different pinouts regardless of whether the header will physically fit.

If you can identify the individual wires in the Asus module from Asus' documentation, and they don't match ECS' pinout, you could also do this:

• Label each wire on the Asus module or take notes on what color wire is what. Make all the ones on one side #1 (#1 power, #1 +data, #1 -data, #1 ground, etc) and all the ones on the other side #2 in the same fashion.
• Now use a saftey pin to gently lift the little plastic "keepers" that hold each of the metal contacts into the plug, and pull on the wires to remove the contacts from the plastic plug one at a time.
• Next, plug the now-empty plastic plug onto the ECS header, starting with pins 1 and 2. If your plug only has eight holes and does not cover pin 10, don't worry about it, that's an extra ground pin.
• Now slide the labelled wires into the plug as it sits on the motherboard, in the positions ECS has mapped out, keeping the #1's on one side and the #2's on the other, and you should have it working.

Note that the metal contacts may have one side that is indented so the "keeper" can grab it, so take a look as you're taking them out and put them in in that orientation.

By the way, you can also get an Antec EasyUSB which provides two front USB outlets. They're around $15.

if,

USB_FP_P0- is USBP3-
USB_FP_P0+ is USBP3+
USB_FP_P1- is USBP2-
USB_FP_P1+ is USBP2+

then no surgery is required.

anyone to confirm?

how i ironic, i came here to post the same question, and did

in my case though , the cable from this case is labeled:

USB - 1, VCC 1, USB + 1, GND 1,

Shield

USB - 2, VCC 2, USB + 2, GND 2


so i imagine that:

VREG_FP_USBPWR0 = VCC
and USB 1- = USB_FP_P0-
USB 1+ = USB_FP_P0+
GND = Ground

shield = USB_FP_OC0

and the same for the USB 2 etc i got


is that right ??

ummm, theres 9 pins altogether

but ther all seperate , like the LED pins are from a case

its not like stuck together u know

I took an Abit USB 2 port header and tried it directly on my K7S5A and the motherboard started smoking underneath the USB connectors! The USB header pins are now useless, but the rest of the MB works fine. I could have used the info in this thread!

the cable has like 5 plugs but the Audio header on the K7S5A board has heaps more ?!?!

yeah but unfortuantely the cables from this case labeled different to the board, must use different terminology for the same thing.

so i held my breath and tried a few combinations,
got the front speakers to work, but the mic wouldnt
anyway if was good enough for him..
