k7s5a sound problem

Has anyone had a problem setting up the onboard sound on this board?. Drivers are shown installed but I get no sound. Any clues? Thanks

I use the Realtek AL200A drivers and work great...
Actually you get more options over the sis drivers
file name is wdm_a250

You need to have "powered" speakers with the K7S5A. Passive ones will not work. Could that be your problem?

Bingo..... The test speakers are not powered....I didn't know that. Is this true with all onboard sound motherboards?. Thanks a lot.

No, but it is not that unusual on what is considered a budget, performance board. However, most others do have a built in "amplifier" of sorts. Don't worry, this little "feature" catches a lot of people off guard. You're not the first to mention it. Good luck; it's a nice little board for the most part.

I have learned something new...
thanks a lot
altough I never had a problem with k7s5a it could potentialy come out as an issue
regards!!!
