K7S5A problem with sound

I know there's tons of issues with this board, but if anyone has seen this one I'd appreciate your input.

There's a couple of applications that will cause the sound to crash in Win98SE. After running fine for a minute or so, it starts looping a split-second snippet of the last sound it played. It happens in Tony Hawk 2 and Winamp with visualizations on. It sucks because it was working fine for the first 3 days after I upgraded to this mobo/cpu.

Specs:
K7S5A w/ 1ghz Duron (BIOS is latest revision)
128MB PC2100 DDR
Ensoniq AudioPCI (an old one that now uses Soundblaster PCI64 drivers)
Diamond Viper V550 (TNT) AGP
Win 98SE

What I've tried:
Reinstalled Direct X 8.1
Reinstalled sound drivers
Uninstalled and reinstalled the offending software
Reinstalled video drivers
Switched PCI slots for the sound card
Tried onboard sound

Any ideas?

You tried the onboard sound? so it may be the video card.
Because I had some static sound when Viewing High Loads of graphics with my Voodoo 3 2000 PCI.

That problem disapeared with my new Geforce 2 Ti

Good Luck 😉
