Y'know, after many years in tech, I thought I'd seen every motherboard problem possible. But here's a new one. This K7S5A which has worked fine for a long time, now, when powered on...sits there for a long delay, up to 5 minutes. No POST, no monitor signal...but if you wait long enough, it'll come alive and everything works fine.

Replacing the BIOS battery didn't really do much to help. Ditto with changing power supply. I'm stumped at the moment. Ever heard of this?

Clear the cmos jumper? If you have ddram, now's a good time to upgrade.

Replacing it is really no problem, I'd just like to know the cause, if possible. Defaulting the CMOS then re-setting it has not helped, no.

Some sort of mobo damage regarding the sensing of the 'pwrgood' signal? Are you sure that the reset button isn't shorting out against something somehow? Sleep button?

I'd try a bios flash and see if that straightens it out.

Yeah, I'll flash the bastage and see how goes. Don't think it's the buttons...another motherboard is now in that case and working fine.
