Hello,

Problem:
This is the specs of the PC in question:
ECS K7S5A 2200XP
Nvidia Gforce4
512 Sdram
Sound Blaster Live

This system has been working for the past 2 years but all of the sudden is giving problems.

It would boot up saying Cannot boot because of a missing or Corrupt system32 Drivers ??? file. So then I restarted and it would boot up normally to Windows but there wont be any sound coming from the speakers. After that I rebooted again and can only get black screen, no signal coming on Monitor. I continuously get no signal. No boot up, no noises. Sometimes I can unplug from PS and plug it back in, start up, it would boot up normally again but no sound from speakers.

I wont be available to test out any troubleshooting step until tonight but if anyone can give me some steps or Info to try, it would be greatly appreciated.

thank you!

I had a similar problem with my K7S5A. It wouldnt boot untill I restarted it several times over. Then eventually didnt boot at all. It turned out to be either my agp slot or my agp card. I dropped in a 8mb pci card I had lying around and it works fine. My vid card's error LED never lit up so I not sure what it was.
Im waiting to get a dfi lanparty so I dont really care about the 8mb vid since this machine is going to be a server when I go back to school.

My SB Live is phucking up too. Not sure why and if its related.

ok,

I found out the problem was my SB Live sound card was the problem. Put into a different PCI slot, disabled onboard sound and everything is working.

Thanks
