Hey all,

Looking to buy this mobo, and was wondering if I could install a 1.3GHz Duron on this motherboard? The site I was looking at buying it at says it'll only accept a 950MHz Duron. (Figure this was only a limitation of the BIOS when it was made)

Has anybody got this mobo using a higher rated duron, something 1GHz or better

Thanks in advance for your imputs

My guess is that 950mhz figure is the lowsest it can support. I haven't used a duron processor on my K7N420, but have a 1.4Ghz XP in there. I highly doubt that there will be any problems sticking in a 1.3Ghz duron.

The board works great in Win XP, but I had some problems with the network controller in Win '98. Win '98 has some new drivers, so they may of have fixed this problem.

If you are using XP, you shouldn't have any problems. It is very stable and very easy to setup.

I've got a 1.4GHz Tbird in my MSI K7N420 Pro motherboard back at home. It's been running 24/7 for the good part of 4 months now. :D

yes, I'm using it under Win2K, runs great. Graphics are quite nice with newest drivers. I'm playing Dungeon Siege with the onboard video.

Im also wondering what video cards can be used on it since when i opened this baby it had a red tape on the AGP slot saying "Please use 1.5V AGP cards to avoid permanent damage to this mainboard"

The video card im planning to use on it is the Gainward Ge Force 3 Ti450 Golden sample ( GeF3 Ti200 ).
Site on Gainward doesn't have any info on the voltage so im in douth.
