K7N2 Delta 2 and SATA Woes

Ok I so pickup this 250gig Maxtor monster, come home, throw it in the machine to see if it works. It does, cool, windows detects it, formats it, its usuable. I run some benchmarks on it, like what I see and then proceed to start an OS install on the drive. So I go through the motions, remove all my IDE devices just in case I zap one of my other drives, which has happened more than once when in a hurry. I boot from my XP disc(RTM, no service packs), I smack F6, load the SATA controller drivers. The installer sees the disc, it formats the disc, it copies to the disc, poof, done. I reboot, "Unable to detect operating system". No matter what I do, I end up with this error. MSI's website says my board doesn't support drives over 160gb, weird, Windows uses mine just fine, benchmark apps don't complain when writing to different parts of the drive. Board has the latest BIOS on it. Any ideas? I think I've exhausted about everything I could do besides try a PCI RAID controller.

Bump.

Running the B4 revision, been trying to get the B3 revision downloaded but it always drops out from MSI's ftp. Still trying...
