Right now I am running a 300 mhz K6-2. (4.5 x 66) If I set the multiplier to 2x, will it actually be 6x as some of the old boards did?

It's the cpu that does 6x, not the mobo. It should work, just try it and see. It is quite possible, however, that the cpu won't run at 400mhz.

IIRC, 2x will map to 6x on CTX core K6-2's. Look along the edge of the processor, on the ceramic, should be printed in yellow. Sandorski's correct that it's the CPU that does it, and that it probably won't run at 400.

FSB on the Socket7/Super Socket7 was not that simple. Socket7s rarely hit 83mhz with stability and Super Socket7s rarely hit 115mhz+.

I just built a system that has a K6-2/400 running stable at 550MHz on an Amptron M598LMR mobo (5.5*100).
