I recently got a K40. We got the Tesla for free through a research program nVidia is running. I need to buy a workstation where it can sit, but I havent really been following the hardware market for a few years. Recommendations could be nice :) We are note looking for overly expensive xeon server stuff, just a regular workstation that happens to have a K40.

From the K40 manual i need a large PSU (least 175 W on the 8 pin) any recommendations?

- Some motherboard with 3. gen PCI express. I guess it also needs integrated graphics because there is no display port on the K40's

- A core i7 + a ton of ram?

Most regular workstations will handle it just fine. Find a Dell workstation which it is possible to equip with a high powered Quadro like the K5000, and buy it with a low end GPU instead. Something like the Precision T3610 would be my choice.
