i thought it was interesting so i wanted to put it up against my q6600 so i downloaded cinebench r10 and here are my spes and numbers

rendering 1 cpu 3852 cb cpu
rendering x cpu 13642 cb cpu
multiprocessor speedup: 3.54x

i was running this on vista ultimate 64 bit, sorry about the none picts i dont know how to post them..lol...i just thought it was interesting the difference in scores??? does that seem right to you guys???

So Xeon has a 22% IPC advantage over K10? I find that hard to believe given the extent of the architectural changes AMD made. K10 is atleast as substantial an architectural update as K8 was to K7, and the latter resulted in around a 25% increase in IPC. Core 2 has around a 25-30% higher IPC than K8, so if this result is to be believed, it means K10 is barely an improvement. I don't believe that for a second.

Best to wait for a real review I think.

There's already a thread on this elsewhere here...
There are some problems with those "benches".

1. It's an Agena (AM2+ single socket desktop) but it also says it's an Opteron 2332 (which is a multi socket 1207 chip)...that makes little sense.

2. The stepping listed is very old and if this was a real chip (which I suspect may not be the case), then it would be the same one from April...

Yeah, it's only like 5 threads down from the top, only has over 4000 views and over 80 posts...real easy to miss.

First *real-world* benches of Barcelona?
