K-mart shares down to lowest price since 1967

BUY!

They may file chapter 11 but what the heck. They won'tgo out of business, just re organize. They may come out better then ever. Chrysler did.

Only a small percentage of companies actually successfully emerge from Chapter 11. Most end up liquidating anyway. To bank on that is stupid. Chrysler was one exception only because they were subsidized by a $1.5 billion government bailout.

Glad to see you posting again, Russ. Sorry if you've been "back" for a long time and I didn't notice until now. I've got in trouble that way with my wife's haircuts before too ("Hey, did you get a haircut?" "Yeah, 2 weeks ago." "Doh!" )

Anyway, it seems to me that SOMETHING will happen with K-mart, like another corp will buy it. It seems inconcievable that they would simply board up their windows and lay everyone off. Sell all their assets to pay off the creditors. I would think K-mart has too much market share and brand recognition to be worthless.

You would have though the same thing about wards as well. KMART sales are down and WALMART continues to grow. There is no company that would want to buy the assests and name of a company LOSING CUSTOMERS! Heck COme on @homes's assests should have been worth alot as well but if there are no buyers the stock holders get screwed!

Walmart seems to be doing a heck of a job on putting many department stores out of business. They are partly to blame for K-Marts fall, as well as many other stores.

kmart have the worst return policy. i bought a blender that have the ice crushing feature but the plastic container broke while i was using it. I want a refund so i can get the glass one and the manager said the one i have is not design to crush ice? WTF? on the container, it said powerful ice crushng ............ WALMART all the way. Target is pretty good too

The only one to blame for KMart's troubles is KMart. They have ancient, inbred management that wouldn't recognize retail creativity or a good idea if it jumped up and bit them on the ass.
