I've been there once. I think I saw more homeless people around then customers walking around. Really sad. If you drive down University... you can spot at least 5 homeless people.

Yes, stay out of Riverside if you can. I have to go to school there (UCR), bummer.

That's true...I mean, it's all relative. Riverside isn't that bad....compared to, say, Afghanistan. On the other hand, a 10% student discount at K-mart is HOT...as long as the K-mart doesn't happen to be located in Riverside.

I have lived in Riverside and Santa Cruz--- I prefer Santa Cruz. In Riverside there is smog, yo whats up guys and worst of all, UC Riverside--- the worst UC campus in world.

whoa my long lost twin 🙂 I transferred from UCR to UCSC 😉 2 more classes until I graduate from Santa Cruz... already walked 😉 You're right Santa Cruz is soooo much better... even though there's bums downtown still but hey, can't beat living < 5mi from the Pacific Ocean. I had a place down on 7th by the Harbor... 5 minute walk to Harbor Beach... man I miss that =\

Wow, Santa Cruzians! I went there for my first 2 years of college, and i'm transferring out to UCSD. I didnt think Santa Cruz was too bad... and this is coming from a guy that has lived in Irvine his whole life.
