k-byte gamerpro memory?

Hey guys, i'm eyeing the Kbyte Gamerpro 512mb PC3200 chips they're selling at BB for $80 AR during the week of July 4th week. Does anyone have any experience with this memory? Is it reliable, fast etc? A quick trip to their website says the modules are produced by Avant. Anyone have any experience with this company? Thanks for the time.

Dunno, but...why?

If you need it right now, get it.
If you don't need it right now, buy from Newegg. You save $4, have to wait 3-4 days, but get better service than BB.

Didn't know newegg sold it. I'm just curious and wondering if this is a good alternative to the other name brand RAM chips. I'm just looking to complement my 512mb PC3200 ValueRam. In all honesty I just want it stable running at PC3200. I don't think my mobile barton will go much higher than 2.4ghz and i'm only gonna try pushing ram to 210fsb tops if I decide to experiment even more. However, I have been burned badly by both kingston and crucial whose PC3200 chips flaked out on me at 200mhz (I RMAed the kingston). so just curious.

I doubt it will be any better or worse, but wouldn't expect miracles, either.

Damn, the HORRIBLE service of going in and asking for a stick of ram that's on sale. I work @ a BB and am sick of trolls that base service of one bad experience on the 300+ BB's in US and Canada. Suck it up, some of us probably know a considerable amount more about hardware than yourself and pride ourselves in offerring world class customer service.

True, some of you are sharp as a tack, but others are dumb as a rock. I've heard more horror stories about BB than Newegg, and with NE cheaper w/o a rebate, it's a nobrainer. Then again, historically this k-byte stuff usually isn't the greatest, I'm surprised that it's even CAS2.5. I don't mean it's defective or anything, but trying to populate a board with 2 or 3 might be a lottery unless you increase timings beyond the SPD values.

Yeah, but are you in the majority of those that work there?

Which one do you work at, I've stopped going to BB because of their horrible service, and the managers are the worst.

And just for the record, while you may be an excellent rep. that doesn't make the rest of them any better, sorry.

For the OP, this ram should be fine for you, however if you want to avoid the rebate Newegg has Mushkin Basic for $79 shipped.
