K-Byte is associated with a company called Reptron. K-Byte has been around for awhile. I would consider their memory products as average, maybe mediocre. They normaly use generic memory chips. BB, Staples, CC and other retailers carry K-Byte memory products from time to time.
Nothing yet in their website about any other K-Byte except for a 256MB 32x64 PC 133 SDRAM Memory for $89.99. We'll find out later when the ads will be posted.
Looks like they are using Spectek memory chips. From what I understand Spectek is associated with Crucial and they use chips that did not pass the high standard of quality to be used on Crucial sticks. So they brand them as Spectek and sell them to low end memory stick makers. I guess like K-Byte.
My cousin once bought a stick of PC133 ram from Ubid.com....on the web it stated as Micron chip....but the memory he received has the big S on it.....so...either Ubid made a mistake, or it is micron, just under Spectek's name.....
