Justice Thomas accepted millions in gifts from right wing mega donor

I've seen enough from valid sources to say that the land deal likely broke several laws. He should be charged accordingly.
Seems that every day the case(s) against him are mounting precipitously. He's the poster boy for SCOTUS is FUBAR unless something's done.

My line of thinking is that Roberts pushes him out, Clarence announces his retirement OR a shakeup in the house 2024 2026 (and Biden runs again of course).
I am thinking this is too much. Its like pulling the trigger on 5th avenue and flipping the bird to the cops when they show up. And this dude is not even Trump. Dems about to declare war on SC.

Yeah it remains to be seen how much Roberts doesn't like this. Fingers crossed but I'm not expecting much from the guy who thinks bribery is fine and religious christian conservatives are entitled to both different rules and more protections than the rest of us. They make Thomas write a check or two, publicly acknowledge 'my bad won't happen again' and then they move on like it never happened. Back to more partisan corruption of the court so GQP can survive the elections it can't steal while giving the christofascists whatever they want.

One good thing that will come of this is that fewer people will scoff when it's time to add four more justices to the court that must be saved. This asshole has given the Dems fuel for decades, is going to end his SCOTUS career in as much shame and ridicule as he did when he began it. That at least makes me smile.

This Feinstein bullshit needs to wrap up stat and then Kagan and Sotomayor need to get with it, avoid making the mistake their hero did.

Looking back over this whole Federalist Society horseshit for several decades, how does purposely pushing partisan hack judicial nominees, end well in the first place. Aren't we supposed to be looking for objectivity in our judiciary? How could this not end up with a SCOTUS that nobody has any respect for, because it's been all out in the open for decades that the whole purpose was for partisan reasons, and not for an objective court.
YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!

Can't count on anything but the vote would be the surest way of solving the issues. Overwhelming dominance of a sane voting public would fix a lot!
Agreed. And I would love for the Republicans to get smashed at the polls enough so that Dems had some real power. And not just on the federal level, but in these states too. But we have to deal with the situation we find ourself in. Can we really just rely on that plan considering the way things are going?

This country is broken on the constitutional level - the ways of the founding fathers have created rule by the minority, it did not stand the test of time, and there is no chance in hell of changing the constitution to fix those wrongs.

New: Clarence Thomas to "amend" financial disclosure forms to reflect sale to GOP megadonor

Oh, Gee...
So I robbed a bank last year. Can I just return the money now and stop hiding from the police?

F-ing privileged a-holes.
Maga people, is THIS the great America you seek?

Scumbag will probably get away with it by doing that. And that will embolden those other scum sucking conservatives on the court to get that much more arrogant and self-righteous about being gifted.

Guys, guys, guys...chill out...relax. Thomas is a right-wing conservative. It's fine. These things are only wrong if it's a liberal doing them...in which case, hanging wouldn't be a severe enough punishment.

It'd probably be for using bobby pins as an artifical means to enhance the hairstyles of the liberal women in the Court while the conservative ones are getting paid off with gifts galore for spitshining the Louis Vuitton loafers of their corporate bosses. This is how their version of reality works where they have absolutely no problem reconciling conflicting views like that. It makes it convenient for them to ignore how corrupt and devoid of ethics and morals they are in order to seize power by hammering away at The Constitution, of which has become their sworn enemy.

According to NPR this morning, Thomas has continued to declare income from a real estate company his wife's family owned "Ginger LLC," which closed in 2006.

$50-100k per year. Gee, I wonder where that money was coming from, considering that the company that was paying him was fake for almost 2 decades?

Looks like it is a Washington Post story

The shuttered company was replced by a company with a similar name. This will be written off as a mere clerical error.

"I didn't understand the law even though it is clearly spelled out" doesn't seem like the best defense in this circumstance, Mr. Justice.
You just haven't read the right tea leaves to really understand what the founding fathers believed and why that impacts the disclosures that Justice Thomas feels like he doesn't have to make.
