Drip drip.

I don't mind that much, but when the dam eventually breaks, I hope it takes a whole lot of those thoroughly corrupted conservative pols and judges out to the middle of the Bermuda Triangle never to smell their retch inducing odor ever again.

I agree nothing is going to happen to Thomas but I also think if we have any chance of making the court less corrupt this is the way to do it. Not one bit scandal - every month or two a new corrupt act.

It’s stupid but unless the corrupt act is like eating babies a ton of medium scandals are better than one large one.

Yeah we should definitely expose the corrupt to as light as possible, but we should know it's a shaming exercise.

I still can't believe in 2004 a candidate yelling got more coverage than this has.

I’m not sure if that’s true - I think Thomas’ various scandals have gotten a decent amount of coverage.

What I think is awful is that they would have way more coverage if Democrats were holding hearings on this constantly. I’m glad they are subpoenaing people now but frankly the Republicans would be on hearing 58 by now and it’s shameful that Democrats aren’t.

Generally speaking I’m not a fan of the ‘democrats should act like republicans’ bit but this is one place they absolutely should. It’s a giant scandal!

The answer is easy - expand the court and take his power away.

Theoretical answers may be easy to you because you don't exist in reality enough, but rather in the land of pseudo intotellectualism.

In reality the answer is not easy at all. In fact it's the complete opposite of easy and shit show difficult.

i recall that when Thomas recently "released everything" publicly to try and stop the dripping over the last year or so, he was hoping that this would all just go away and people wouldn't care anymore. But it looks like it keeps coming and people are still going to keep talking about it.

This is what the Bidens tried to do back in ~2019 with a long New Yorker article on Hunter Biden that just exposed everything. They figured if they just dump everything out in the public that the GQP wouldn't have any ammo left, because all there is with the Bidens is Hunter, and there really isn't much of relevance to Hunter, anyway. But of course, that didn't work, and the GQP obviously has no compunction to back off trashing every thing that walks in front of them.

I guess we get to see now if the GQP truly has no shame and Thomas and other GQP federal justices just keep on skating by with blatant, unconscionable corruption and absolutely zero consequences for their attempts to turn the United States into a 3rd world christo-fascist state. I mean, I'm not holding my breath because it's clear that not a single GQP legislator or "judge" gives a flying fuck about corruption because their mud-eating supporters have been explicitly created over the last 5 decades of policy aimed squarely at making them stupid, illiterate, and utterly terrified about everything around them.

There really is no consequence for the GQP these days, as they've worked quite diligently for decades to bring this country to its knees.

It’s absolutely accountability.
How is Clarence punished for his transgressions? By diluting his power one must assume an equal dilution of his bribes? Effectively cutting his “pay”? Guess thats one way of looking at it…

If someone abuses power and then you take some of that power away you are holding them accountable.

Maybe not to the extent that you would like but it’s inarguably accountability.

It wouldn't be punishing him. But in this world only children and Hollywood script-writers expect the 'bad guys' to always be punished. In reality they usually get away with it.

The main objective surely should be to fix the structural problem and stop them doing any more harm. Packing the court would be the most important step towards achieving that.

There are three kinds of people in this world: Children, hollywood (ai)scriptwriters and dumbass defeatists. Your deduction that shit sucks and is never gonna change is a banging recipe for never improving… on anything I guess?

The only sensible thing would be to remove him from the court and prosecute him for his transgressions.

How is a cop convicted when convicted? Fullest extent right? Why is that? Same applies to a judge. Should apply to a judge.

To pack the court would fix things right now but you dont need a PhD in statistics to realize understand that over time the swings would get bigger and longer. Especially longer is a problem.

No one is a above the law right? Except a SCOTUS justice, he fucking king.

At least over here, Kings and Queens is that in name only… You lot rocking the real deal.

Sen Whitehouse and Dems making progress. Subpoenas approved for SCOTUS sugar daddies.
They will ignore the subpoenas most likely and apparently the motion to enforce the subpoenas is subject to the filibuster, and Republicans will undoubtedly filibuster it.
