Fuck this guy. Seriously.
Just a complete joke of a justice. Always has been, always will be.

Senate needs to start corruption hearings, yesterday. What's more of a concern to the nation, a judge on the take or a drug addict trading on his father's name in the past?![]()
Clarence Thomas’ 38 Vacations: The Other Billionaires Who Have Treated the Supreme Court Justice to Luxury Travel
The fullest accounting yet shows how Thomas has secretly reaped the benefits from a network of wealthy and well-connected patrons that is far more extensive than previously understood.www.propublica.org
crooked clarence caught red handed
It really is - I am pretty confident that Thomas never took money with an explicit 'give me $$ and I'll vote your way' but this is utterly obvious corruption where he is being paid huge sums of money to be a reliable vote in all matters.
I agree - I hope we see a new SCOTUS corruption story about once a month, every month, for the foreseeable future.I just love the drip drip drip of all of this.
I believe that all of this info has been uncovered for quite some time by now, but the release of it in "small" batches over a longer period of time is necessarily intentional.
The only way to save the US is to hold pieces of complete shit like Thomas and the other half dozen corrupted justices to account. Congress has to act and fix SCOTUS. There is nothing in the constitution that gives them the power to make their own laws, and disallow any laws that prevent them from being owned by corporate handlers. These fuckers need to be brought to heel.
The question is will it even matter? The evidence is already overwhelming, but no one that could do something seems inclined to. We all know that there is only two real remedies for this, impeachment or stacking the court, and no one in power seems willing to do either.I agree - I hope we see a new SCOTUS corruption story about once a month, every month, for the foreseeable future.
Who knows, but if those sorts of things are going to happen you're going to need public opinion to shift and nonstop stories about how corrupt SCOTUS is helps do that. The question is will it even matter? Probably why he helped push for the ruling on bribery years ago that it is only a bribe if there is explicit quid pro quo.It really is - I am pretty confident that Thomas never took money with an explicit 'give me $$ and I'll vote your way' but this is utterly obvious corruption where he is being paid huge sums of money to be a reliable vote in all matters.

Thomas has more instances of taking luxury vacations from "donors" than he has of asking questions during SCOTUS arguments.
I'm of the opinion that his right wing backers aren't paying him for any one particular vote or decision - they are just rewarding him for being on the team in general. He knows if he starts voting differently the gravy train will stop. You gotta wonder how those two are connected. While he's been taking these bribes his entire life, he probably realized that if he spoke too much during arguments his dumb mouth could expose his intent and therefore his owners, so he decided to just shut up.
Or, as likely, his owners simply told him to shut his dumb mouth and he complied.
I heard the next phase of the investigation may center on the possibility there has to be a level of organization behind having such a wealth of benefits. Maybe, for example, the gifts arrive courtesy of the Federalist Society. This pealing of this onion may yield much much.more.Who knows, but if those sorts of things are going to happen you're going to need public opinion to shift and nonstop stories about how corrupt SCOTUS is helps do that.

Sorry, I don't see words, I hear them. I don't see letters I see shapes that trigger sounds. To spell a word I have to remember the sound of every letter, like Mississippi. I can't spell lots of other cities or many words I haven't memorized.Bells peal, onions/fruit/humans peel. 🙂
Same here, he’s a wealthy successful guy. Just buy this shit on your own.I'm still surprised how cheap of a whore this man and his wife have turned out to be.

Chief Justice salary: $298,500 / year. Other justices $285k/yr. Not chump change by most people's standards (upper 6% of household incomes, before accounting foronce you take out illiquid assets out of a justice's nw, they don't have much.
