He got three hots and a cot for 10 years!

oh, that and the whole "anal rape" thing...

Having not yet read the article, I'd like to point out that our justice system is NOT meant to catch all criminals. Innocent until PROVEN guilty allows a lot of criminals to go free at the price that no innocent people will be convicted. Of course, that's the idea, not always the practice.

/me off to read the article...

edit: And this is just the opposite side of the coin. Good to see he got released. I think rape is one of the harder crimes to prove... It's often my word against yours.

"The girl was raped in 1994 while she was walking to school. Rose was arrested after she told police three weeks later that she believed he was responsible. But she had not identified him during a police lineup and initially told police her attacker was a stranger. Rose?s attorneys a decade ago said he was an acquaintance of her family.

Rose was convicted in 1996 of rape, kidnapping and other charges based on blood evidence that prosecutors said linked Rose to the crime. A sobbing Rose, who had no previous history of violence, proclaimed his innocence as a judge sentenced him to 27 years in prison."

The judge should serve out the remainder of his sentence

Mistakes happen, what about the jury, they convicted him?

Who would serve as judge/jury if they had that kind of burden on them?

please list all the countries where that would not have happened because their justice system prevents mistakes by using magic or whatever

there are dozens of cases (if not hundreds) where people who have been put on deathrow are later found NOT guilty due to new DNA testing that was not available when they were originally convicted. imagine the number of innocent people that were executed.

please list all of the times you were put on put deathrow for a wrongfully accused trial.

and in case you say there's nothing the US can do about it, you're wrong. the state of illinois had a handful of cases where people were released from deathrow due to new evidents. result? the former governor of state of illinois put the death penalty on hold simply until they can find a better system.

He should go and rape her as payback for the years he was in jail. LOL

EDIT: yeah... i know i'm an idiot

Brickley said she was nervous about letting Rose comment on the case because the district attorney could refile charges against him.

That's screwed up if he gets charged again. What sort of charges could they bring against him? "Sorry we wrongfully convicted you and sent you away for 10 years. By the way, we're going to charge you with X crime (assuming the statute of limitations hasn't expired) and put you back in for a few more years."

No smartass, it means no justice system can be perfect until we break some moral laws like chips in brains or some BS. For those that believe in higher powers and after-life justice systems, its there where we'll be truly punished or rewarded, we can only do so much until then if that is the case.
