Just wondering...

Do we know if any of the larger numbered people joining us arent from BBR?

I was just curious if they might plant a few people with 5-10k WU's in our midst, then at the last minute have them switch... 2 - 10k users switching would be like a 40k changearound in points...

No, not paranoid. Just seems like a good strategy 🙂

From what I remember, there *was* one person that switched that had a fair amount of WUs.

That's pretty low if someone would do that and I would think we're all adults and above that type of behavior.

🙂

I haven't seen BBR's work drop off suddenly, as it would do if they switched members, I'm sure if that had happened, something would have been said.

Plus, I am giving BBR the benifit of the doubt that they are not so immature as to do that. 🙂

I do not believe that anyone from BBR would work that way just as I know that no one from here would try that either.

Just what you were wondering about ... and more than one time. 😉

It wasn't done by the Forum Hardware.FR Team officially ... but several of their members thought it would be "cute".

You never know who might have been planted here....oh some time ago

and be planning to move back!

😉

Yeah, nothing better than a good conspiracy theory! 😀

I guess CIA, MI5, Mossad, KGB and BND are also somehow involved in here 😉

Seriously, if they do that they wouldl lose a lot of their reputation as an honest competetor!

Almost everyone responded insinuating that it would be dishonest, or underhanded. How so? I guess I dont see the difference in hiding 40k WU's on your home computer, and dumping them all at once, or joining the opposing team with 20k wU's and switching them back later 🙂 They both are tricky.

I don't know if I would consider it dishonest but if you join a TeAm and are active in it with intentions to pull out at the very end without saying anything to anybody concerning your plans, if you had planned it, then I would think it was low and just a crappy thing to do to people. Then again people do stuff like this all the time so why should DC be any different?
Hopefully nobody on this TeAm has plans to do such a thing!

That's it. All this talk of team switching has made me angry. I'm going to go join the BBR team...

Be back later! 😉 😛 :Q

Seriously though, I hope no one did that to us and I hope none of us did that to another team. I think that's beyond the scope of "strategy". It's downright underhanded and one of the major beefs I have with the SETI project in general. Team jumping just sucks.

Yeah, I think the RC5 project had it right.. you could join your Blocks to a Team's total once. But if you later decided to leave the Team, the blocks crunched with that team stayed with that team. Problem solved. 🙂

Now, there was that seti-password again...

No, I'm too lazy, besides the old team has 5 slighly seti-related topics the last 100 days so don't really see a point to move back anyway.

Ah just for the record I was joking around on my first post and using "you" in my second post only in a general manner and certianly not directed to any individual. If I offended anyone please don't be!
