A little, it more about style and the name, some guy and gals have very trained eyes for such things.

I stick with $20-40 pairs of lee's, Levis, wrangler and work n' sport (farm and fleet ones). they last a while and take a beating. that $200 pair would buy me 4 pairs of jeans that would last me a long time.

With the number of expensive jeans owners in here, can I just put out a reminder that no matter what your jeans cost, they're still not acceptable dress at a nice restaurant? Seriously folks, expensive jeans don't become appropriate where cheaper ones would not.

When I lived in Malibu, you could find t-shirts for $700+ at many of the stores. That place is it's own little (spoiled) world.

Good lord, this crap again? Seriously, they are in any decent store. Macy's, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's. Some malls even have stores like True Religion, Diesel, etc.

For what it's worth, I actually have had numerous people comment me on my jeans. Most of them are women that say things like, "I wish my husband would buy nicer jeans", or they say something like, "Those are nice. There's something about them." I personally don't care what people think as I buy them for entirely different reasons, but clearly people do notice. If you deny this, we might as well say all shirts, suits, shoes, etc. are all the same and spending more than that from Wal-Mart is absurd.

I think that every week or every other week, we should just have a mandatory jeans flame thread. We'll keep it simple and just have the title say "$200 jeans".

In related news, I picked up a Jack Spade bag for my trip to NYC this weekend.

Not always, its not about how much you pay, its about looking classy. You coiuld spend 1k on a outfit and still look like a clown.

Most of the girls are, but not all of them.

I'll stick with my $10 jeans thank you very much. Jeans are jeans aside from the tag and a few minor things here and there for the most part.

Nothing about dungarees is "classy". Well, they used to be in that they were relegated to the lower classes while the wealthy did not wear them unless perchance they had just struck gold. Lawl. They would still be detestable nouveau riche though wot? In any case, the higher margin fashion ones are oft the worst -especially that fake dirty fad. Now that's clowny.
