<< Smbu is there anyway you ever thought of to fly in the air really high all around flipping, etc? I always dreamed of being able to figure out a way to do that outside somehow. I wonder if its possible. Plus without wires, having rings go around you, being able to flip, etc, people surrounded you, no cg, etc >>

Sorta off topic, but have you ever seen those backpack jetpacks on TV? Its like liquid propellents stapped onto your back like a rocket, and you can fly around freely, fast, and very maneuverable for 30 seconds until the fuel runs out. I'd love to get my hands on one of those things.

Luckster i think by how much are they? I seen the move rocketir! That was a cool jetpack just too noticeable. Is the jetpack you talking about noticeable? Also is it like really flying or is it only a few inches?

Yeah, its a big honking backpack, strapped on sorta like a camping backpack. Its not anywhere near being unnoticable. You can seriously fly all around, on TV they went up to about 100 feet or so. Its limited by the 30 seconds of fuel. You wanna be close to the ground, obviously, when you run out.

I have no idea what the show was like. I did not see it, I do not care to see it. If I saw it, I would be able to explain in more detail how and why you were fooled.

oh come on, i've seen magic secrets revealed and now how basic flying is achieved, but coperfield really does take it to the next level. of course its a trick, but i certainly can't think of an easy way of pulling off what he does, and i truely doubt you could.

yes, of course you would not care to see it, that way you can't be wrong:p

. . . what exactly makes it bs? I mean, what would it take for you to categorize a trick as not bs? It really being magic? I've seen this levitation trick done before, and it's damn impressive if the person knows how to do it right. I personally think magicians that can pull off street magic convincingly are much more adept then those that are separated from their audience by a stage.

Did anyone see where david copperfield flew over the grand canyon? I seen the pictures of it at this site but never seen the live show or on tv. He was pretty young when he did that. Still do not know how he does that one either. Pretty cool how he does it outside and flys. But i really do wish there was so like tiny jetpack or something you could put on your back then fly for about 20 mins in the air outside pretty high. That would be pretty cool. Who knows maybe david copperfield inventioned something to do his flying illusion. But i guess like david copperfield says and other magicians say. They do not reveal their illusions because they are easier than you think of how they are done. So maybe it is wires david copperfeild is on when doing the flying illusion but if it is he surely made it look very natural and good. Plus with the rings who knows how that is done and being put in the glass container with top. I guess the wire could of held two people too. But pretty cool if that really is wire and he can do all those flips too.
But it certainly would be nice if one day we all could really fly lol. But i do not think that will happen and know we really can not. But i didn't say nothing is impossible.

dude i am so confused @that bucaddi levitation or whatever

but yeah, be as skeptical as you think, but sometimes the crap they do is interesting as hell and just makes you think how the freak did they do that

i was @a copperfield show once when i was like 6, i thought it was the coolest thing at the time

did anybody see the one where he was supposedly locked into a safe on a building that was being demo'd? how'd he do that? lots of audience involvement?

NeuroSynapsis yep i seen that one too! I am wondering how he did it too! That was cool also. Would of been neat to see it in person! Plus with david copperfield rising out of the very flat table with the sheet on it was amazing enough to be just a good illusion lol. But i almost seen every trick. Did anyone see the last latest david copperfield show? He made two people on a small sofa outside with no sheets or anything it was outside. And two people sat in it and he made it rose about 1 to 5 feet off the ground. It went up pretty quick too. How did he make 2 people float on that sofa that high plus outside!! Inless its a camera trick. I wish i could of sat in that sofa. What if one of yall sat in that sofa and he made you float up 1 to 5 feet outside would you know how he did it or no ? I am hoping its not a camera trick but i could be. We never know.

The first Blain levitation was just having the audience at a good angle
that last one to where he levitated about 8 inches up was just CG.

I live hee n Vegas and saw Lance Burton and Copperfield, Lance is better IMHO. Lance has much better "up close" magic, that hand magic is the best.

i don't think we'll ever know how Copperfield does his tricks. I mean, the secrets to his tricks are probably safeguarded like Fort Knox. Magicians never show and tell anyways...... unless your talking about that Masked Magician fool who was on FOX.

<< Wondering how everyone thinks he did this in your opinion. He did fly thru 2 rings and was put in a glass box thing where he flew in. He did flip too. I seen this flying illusion in person before and it was pretty neat. I was on about the 8th row on the bottom floor! Got to see the snow effect too when he turned into a kid but we all know he did not really turn in to a kid and it was just a kid actor. But the snow was cool sense we were on the 8th floor it came on us! I even got to meet david copperfield by just writing a simple little letter to tell the place where he was performences at to give to david copperfield. He must of read it and agreed to let me meet him because we wrote in the letter where we were sitting. Sure enough when we were sitting done there they asked for my name and said after the show to stand over here to wait and meet david copperfield. I was so surprised they even let me meet him because i never would of thought he would of read that letter. But that one simple letter i did not even think would do anything did more than i ever thought it would do. I still can not beleive it tothis day but it did happen. Only one other kid in there was waiting to meet david copperfield btw. But i had 2 books of his and he signed them which could be worth something. Too bad he could of not taken me on the flying illusion. That would of be the most coolest thing. But it was someone else. Sure it was a set up person he knew hehe. >>

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. what did you say?

Sudheer Anne btw guess what there was another magician who revealed a lot of david blaine tricks too. Seriously Forgot if it was on abc or what this one. But it was not that masked magician one. It was a different one. That masked magician really was that good.

I know exactly how Copperfield does it. And, NO I'm not telling you.

I will tell you this. Copperfield is a piece of trash. Almost all people in the Magic business hate him. He doesn't come up with any of his own tricks. He finds small time unknown magicians that have a good trick and pays them what they think is alot of money...(like $50,000). He then makes them sign contracts agreeing not to perform the trick ever again. Then Cooperfield goes and makes millions on the trick and takes all the credit.
